Everything Old Is New Again!

I love vintage jewelry, and the more I deal with it, the more I learn about it. The quality of the pieces I find are so much better then what is being offered today, especially the designs & styles! My title, everything old is new again, just means to me that the jewelry of the past, when worn now, looks new and exciting. I have learned that everything goes around in this life, and eventually what was becomes what is. And vintage jewelry, in my mind, will always be now. Although I tend to wear simpler jewelry as I've grown older, I see the vintage pieces as beautiful pieces of art. My daughter loves them also, and wears thermoset and rhinestones from the 1940's & 50's. What wonderful pieces they made! Some of my favorites are the Juliana pieces, when I can find them, Weiss, and I love figurals. I have a variety of them, ballet dancers, fish, alligators, etc. pinned to a cloth panel in my office at home. I love turtles, & I also have a collection of turtle pins, some rhinestone, some tiger eye, etc., sitting on a shelf in my dining room on display. I also have some beautiful big colorful rhinestone pins that I love, one signed Pell, that I have put up on other built in shelves in my dining room leaning against some old pictures from the 1930's and 40's of my grandmother and my aunt. To me, they really are pieces of art and meant to be displayed as well as worn!
As a teenager and through my 20's, I used to visit thrift shops and find wonderful coats, (a big muton fur jacket from the 1940's was a favorite for quite a while, and it even fit over me during my first pregnancy!), blouses, dresses, well everything! I was always drawn to the fabrics and designs of the earlier periods. At the time, I would buy vintage jewelry that I liked, but knew nothing about. So eventually, that grew into an interest of mine and led me to sell them on eBay. I am also interested in other things besides jewelry. I love music, being a child of the late 60's, at that time in college, I love a lot of classic rock, but also my tastes go beyond that into blues, jazz, folk, world music, classical, italian opera...I love music! And I love living in NYC! It grants me the opportunity to explore many cultures, learn about and view daily great architecture, eat great foods from just about everywhere, and enjoy the fruits of a great city. I love photography, and so I can always go somewhere and take pictures, especially pictures of architecture and people. That's just a little bit about me, but mostly, I want you to know that I do love buying vintage jewelry (that's the best part)and selling it to you on eBay. I love to find great pieces that represent a period, and I am very particular about what I buy. It is my joy to find really wonderful pieces and present them to my buyers!
