Hi and thanks for stopping by my me page! My name is Linet Flaherty and by profession I am a seamstress and tailor. I've hemmed
over 15,000 pairs of pants, shortened countless suit sleeves, altered everything from wedding gowns to draperies and replaced more
zippers than any woman should ever have to zip. I started making doll clothes at the request of my little girl. This triggered an
obsession with dollmaking and well, here we are
still at it a couple of decades later! :-)
I'm a Clarissa School of Dressmaking dropout, but I learned
enough about pattern drafting to be able to take measurements and make
clothing from scratch. It was interesting, but dollmaking was a lot more fun. Dolls can
have faces and expressions. Or they can have no faces and still express a feeling or experience.
They can be made as a decoration or as a toy. Some dolls that were once dearly loved toys are now
displayed as pricey antique decorations. It's an art form that reflects whom we are and what we love. It
permits us to laugh at ourselves. But the very best part is -- I'm all grown up and I still get to play with dolls!
I began to exhibit at art and craft shows in the early 80's
and I've been doing shows ever since. In 1992, I took Little Coon Creek as my
business name. Little Coon Creek runs down the hill past our summer cottage in northwestern
Pennsylvania near the town of Clarion. Clarion is known as the Autumn Leaf Capitol of the World.
Little Coon Creek Patterns & Crafts was established in 1992.
Our Little Coon Creek patterns are great to whip up for craft shows -- lots of dolls, raggedies,
snowmen and ornaments. Snowmen are my favorites. :-) The patterns have easy to follow directions and illustrations where needed.

In 2002, we branched off into a second doll and pattern company called Clarion House Collectibles.
Clarion House carries crafting supplies and its own unique style of primitive dolls and doll patterns. I like to call
them my dollmaker dolls. Although not necessarily difficult, our Clarion House patterns require a bit more sewing experience to complete.

When my grown son's company began selling webhosting services he asked if I would consider setting up
a test site with them. Well, that led to a third website called Northern Prims. It's a lot of fun to make our own
patterns, but we also very much enjoy making items from the patterns of other designers. That's what we do at Northern Prims! (currently under reconstruction)

I like being able to attach a face to a name or as it is in the case of this site, an eBay ID. If you're the same way you can meet the whole
family by clicking the link below:

If I still have your attention, I'd like to explain just a wee bit about my way of doing business and my policies. Why I am like I am, lol.
This is just a hobby with me. It keeps me busy and prevents me from getting into other kinds of trouble. (My husband once hid the crowbar from me
for three years...) Although sewing is my favorite, I still do crafting projects of all types. I enjoy quilting, knitting and crocheting, tole painting, cross-stitching,
doing wood projects on my scroll saw, beadweaving, basketweaving, making jewelry and I also design clipart and digitize my own work to stitch out on my embroidery
machine. The husband pest calls this "the house of baskets." I'm also handy with plaster and drywall, laying tile and some plumbing. Being that there aren't a whole lot of crafts I haven't tried over the years,
it's rather natural that this store came about. I too use almost all of the items that I carry so I can usually
answer questions regarding the products with a reasonable degree of familiarity.
I don't sell overstocked items or seconds even if I come across a to-die-for deal on them. I like to keep the things I use myself (even if on a semi-regular basis) in stock so when I want one, I just take it
out of my store. :-D That's how I plan my orders and why I am sometimes out of stock of certain items. What you will find in my store are first quality items
that are still in style and still in demand. From time to time I order items that look appealing in the wholesaler's catalog but when they arrive,
the items are simply not the quality I was expecting. You won't find those in my store. If I'm unhappy with a product it doesn't make it online.
However, although I glance over each item as it gets packed, sometimes manufacturing flaws exist that I can overlook. Many crafting supplies
are made overseas by well, let's just call them "not so talented people." If that's ever the case with something
that you order from me, just let me know and I'll be happy to promptly replace or refund.
Many of you'ins (Pittsburghese) who have already dealt with me know that I can yack a blue streak. So for those of you who don't know me so well,
if I don't respond within a day or so, please assume there's something wrong -- wrong with my laptop, a family member, a pet... I've been known to break an
ankle now and then. Please check my main store page where I post announcements if I have to be away from the computer for any length of time.
To my international customers -- I complete customs forms and declare values accurately. There are laws in the U.S. that provide penalties for
falsifying data on customs forms. My husband is with the judiciary so I not only follow the law, I'm married to it. :-D
Just a few notes about my policies and attitude:
1. Everything is guaranteed for quality, accurate description and delivery. Occasionally I screw up. From time to time, the USPS screws up. I take responsibility
for myself and for the methods by which I ship, no questions asked.
2. Paying for insurance with the postal system is never necessary when shopping Little Coon Creek online. You have me and I'm more reliable than the whole lot of them. This
is the reason you'll see that insurance isn't available on my listings. Consider insurance as already included. (If a dollar amount is more than I'm willing to chance, I'll insure the package myself
with Stamps.com.)
3. I do indeed tack on a reasonable handling fee and here's why: I use new shipping supplies and unfortunately, they're not free; there's not only the cost of the box
or the bubble mailer or bubble wrap, the freight charges from the packaging supplier's warehouse can be hefty as well. There are a zillion other little costs
to doing business -- ink and paper for the printer, tape, gas back and forth to the post office, merchant fees, eBay fees, PayPal fees and so on. Over the course of a year those
things can add up to a goodly sum. With items at low cost such as crafting supplies, those things simply can't be absorbed into the selling price.
Please keep this in mind as you shop eBay -- you'll find a lot of eBay sellers in the same circumstances.
4. One of my favorite sayings is "We're easy here." Really, we are. This is only eBay. eBay is supposed to be fun! It's a way for folks from
all over the world to have a chance to meet and interact with one another. So if there's a problem with payment, if you change your mind about an item, if
your computer blows up, please know that if you're dealing with me those aren't things to worry about. There are enough things to worry about
in this world. eBay ain't one of them. So let's enjoy it.
