| A note about our Ebay Store I'm sorry to say after several years, I've decided to close our Ebay store called Rural Reflection. While the economy was a very small part of it, the decision was based on some changes Ebay has made. Especially in the last couple years, I've become very fed up with big business and what I call the dot.com mentality. Ebay is like many other companies that has dropped customer service almost entirely and at the same time, raised fees again! It took years to get them to offer a phone number and when they did, you were placed on extended hold while a recording told me how important my business is to them! The current economy may have been a consideration to the extent that it causes all of us to make some changes in our lives. And if we look at them right, they can all be positive changes. I plan on offering the same variety of items in regular Ebay auctions as well as searching out other venues. And, at some point possibly re-opening an Ebay store on a limited basis. In the mean time, feel free to contact me if you have any specific needs at this email link. Thank you! Ed |

| Welcome
to mid-Minnesota. A strong agricultural area about 80 miles
west of Minneapolis. Corn, soybeans, and alfalfa seem to fill most of
the growing season landscape. To the north, is Stearns County, one of
the nation’s top dairy producing counties. To the east,
rolling hills with lots of lakes, trees, and
……..urban sprawl. To the west is the plains. Miles and miles of flat open prairie, broken only by the occasional lake or river valley. It's a great place to live, even to those of us who despise winter! ![]() |

| A little about us ....... | |||
My name is Ed and my wonderful wife's name is Kathy. We both grew up on
farms less than a hour west of Minneapolis, Minnesota and gained an
early appreciation for country living. It was a simpler time, but many
of the pleasures and memories from that period are still alive in
country living!
Now, we have a 160 acre farm of our own and are continuing to enjoy the
rural lifestyle . And, we're
looking forward to getting back into livestock. There's just something
about watching a new-born calf in the spring as he naps in the warm
sun, or discovers running for the first time, or, that there are other
calves out there that like doing those things, too!
That's me, the little guy on the grain drill with my Dad and older
brother.
I should say that was me........some fifty years ago! Besides Ebay and
the farm, I'm a truck driver and my wife Kathy works in a local office
for a Minneapolis based company. We both enjoy antique hunting and
going for drives on the back roads.
We appreciate your visit and look forward to doing business with you.
If there's anything in particular that you're looking for, just send us
an email and let us know. Thanks for stopping by!

The
picture above is from a catalog for Independent Silo Company of St.
Paul, Minnesota. It's a good reflection back about 90 years to what a
typical upper midwest farmstead looked like. I still see this
type of silo on occasion, but they are getting fewer! Most
are they cement stave type and some of those are still being built.
Incidently, if you ever have an opportunity to watch a stave
silo being erected ...... it's fascinating! A man on the
ground and one on a platform inside the top of the silo stacking 70
pound staves, each one being sent up on a skip hoist. I
couldn't believe how fast that hoist was or how fast they could set
them in place!
Another
interesting thing I noticed about this picture ......... the caption
says New Brighton, Minnesota. You would be hard pressed to
find any farm in that city now. New Brighton is a northern
suburb within just a few miles of downtown
Minneapolis!
