How I Started.
In 1970 I went to California to visit my good friend and his failing antique store in the lobby of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. On my first visit to his store I sold a wealthy client nearly half of my friend's store inventory. Needless to say, my friend offered me a sales position, which I quickly accepted. Within 6 months, I bought out my friend's interest in the company and turned things around within the first year. I developed the gallery inventory and expanded the collections to include Art Deco furniture, decorative art, early American lamps, bronze sculptures, and high quality Porcelains.
In 1998, after some 28 years of selling art and collectibles at the retail level in both California and New York City, a wonderful opportunity arose to buy out one of my supplier's inventory, giving me another competitive edge in the industry. I acquired an immense inventory of Dresden and other porcelains at prices so low that manufacturers were contacting me desiring to buy back their pieces in order to resell them for higher profits.
The glory days are sadly over. Today, i am semi-retired and my son is pursuing other interests. I continue to buy nice items at reasonable prices and offer them on ebay.
