Me and My Daughter
|
|
I am a 52 year old veteran and a single father, who after working 20 years in construction became disabled.
I started selling on ebay to fuel my passion for sports cards,
which quickly gave me other avenues and things to collect.....
Which was okay until my back litterally gave out, and didnt have the money to feed all of my passions....
My passions today are my two beautifull daughters, one of which has given me two most beautifull granddaughters, playing guitar and collecting.
I had over one dozen vintage amps, and four guitars,
that I have taken down to one guitar(after having one stolen) and two amps.
I dont read music, so it really is all about "that" sound or tone with me and for now I have stopped changing my equipment, because I dont have the money and I believe I have finally found it.....
It is the sound I get from my beater 72 RI Tele Deluxe and my ("god do you have to bring that dirty disgusting thing into my house") 1948 gibson amp.
This amp was the first one I bought (got it on ebay from a youngster in Chicago) and going by its condition she was a true warrior.....
It like me had been there and done that but still had life left in her and sounded like no other amp I've owned.....
So after hearing every one in my family complain and knowing that I would never get rid of it, I did the unthinkable and stripped her down to the wood and then recovered it,(so afraid of affecting her tone) but she came out the other side better looking and sounding, if that was possible.....
WHY LOLOTUNA?
After I got out of the army, in 1975, I moved to Hawaii and lived there for three years. Well lets just say I left my heart and soul there and moved back to southern california, with every intention of moving back.......
Then life happened.....I got married had two children, got givorced and now I am just waiting until my beatuifull 15 year old turns 18 and then I am moving back.....You see before I am anything else I am a Father first.
So lolotuna......lolo is Hawaiian for crazy and tuna sounded better than fish,so basically I am a fish out of water, which sounds like a pretty crazy fish to me.
That is the story of the lolotuna........
Stay tuned
