Since
the time I could walk, I've had a love for animals. I've shared
my home with many pets over the years and feel a house is
just not a home without one. Or two. Or more!
I'm a geriatric
nurse by profession now, but I was always involved with animals
in one form or another. My first job was at an animal shelter.
From there I became a Vet Tech. I was also involved in German
Shepherd rescue with a group due to my love for the breed
and sadly, the need for such a service. (There are MANY breed
specific rescues as well as general animal rescue groups out
there. A great site to checkout is Petfinder.org)
Although
I'm not directly working in the animal field anymore, I'm
lucky that my job allows me to bring one of my dogs to my
assisted living community. Winnie, my rescue Pekingese, is
adored by all the residents. She visits with them daily and
works her own special brand of medicine on those that need
it. From a dog found roaming on the streets of Philly with
mange and a broken jaw, she's blossomed into a happy, healthy,
affectionate girl with an important "job" she performs
well!
We all like the
best for out pets. After all, they're considered part of the
family. That's what brought me to the development of my store.
There are thousands of toys and pet products to choose from
out there. Some are better than others. My goal is to provide
pet products that are top quality so you don't have to weed
through the inferior or same old boring stuff. I'm constantly
searching for unique items for both pets and their caretakers
offered at affordable prices. If I don't list a product, its
because I wouldn't use it on or give it to my own dogs and
cats. Its that simple!
Please check back
often. I'll also be including a monthly newsletter to view
at this site with info on a variety of pet issues as well
as detailed info about some of the pet products you can find
in the store. (Click on the Pet News & Info link near
the top of this page.) Feel free to email me concerning the
pet-themed gift baskets if you have an idea for one that you
don't see listed.
Thank you and feel
free to email with any comments or suggestions!
