I am a single mother of 2 teenage boys Brandon just started at U of M. Adam is a sophmore at West Bloomfield High School.
I am an artist. After my first son, Brandon was born, I began to attend outings to artists studios in & around the Detroit area. Once I had seen what these people could do, I took several painting, drawing, ceramics & jewelry making classes. I have been juried (paintings) into group shows & one woman shows. I even went on a painting trip to Paris! Here I am at the Picasso Museum! |
Originally, I opened the store to sell my own jewelry. It was very hard for me to part with the pieces unless I made back the money in the stones & designs, at least. I consider myself a designer. In painting, also, my strengths were in color & design. I do all of the buying for my "virtual" store, BEADdazzled Boutiques, at eBay. The items that I have designed & created are very expensive; & were not selling. I started to buy some fashion jewelry & some estate jewelry at eBay auctions. The next thing I knew, I had built it, and they have come! I have only a few of my pieces in the store. My first idea was to have all kinds of jewelry & collectibles available, like Swarovski, Playboy, Vintage, Estate, Celebrity Jewelry, & Designer Inspired Jewelry. That is where Boutiques comes from. I am selling all kinds of beautiful items, but am trying to narrow down into finer fashion & fine jewelry. I love sterling silver & 14k white & yellow gold. The stones are like paints for me. I was brought up by a Mother who took me to different jewelers quite often, "just to look". In those days you had to ring a bell to be admitted; & the store owner had to know you. I learned a lot about buying jewelry in those formative years. I use that buying ability to pass on to my buyers. Since I have been single again, I have no space or time to paint. I do love my virtual store, BEADdazzled Boutiques! I believe that I have the nicest buyers on eBay!
