I grew up in an Inn in Vermont in the 50’s and 60’s.  My mom and dad enjoyed going to auctions to purchase furniture and odds and ends for it.  I loved going with them when I was in grade school and still remember the first thing that I ever bid on.  It was a big, old, brown leather book-bag!  I was so excited when, not only did my Mom say that I could bid on it, but- I actually won it!  Perhaps my insatiable desire to rescue long forgotten and unappreciated items stems back to those days.  We grew up with antiques so that is what I gravitate to as an adult.  I also love vintage items from the 30’s to 50’s.  I often find chenille bedspreads, hankies, tea towels, old lace, barkcloth, costume jewelry, handbags, old fans, books, lamps, light fixtures, silver-plate, china, vintage clothing, embroidered items, tablecloths, glassware snippets or yards of fabric...etc.  I love to cull through what some would walk right past and emerge with diamonds in the rough.  The best part is presenting them in my auctions in their polished, scrubbed, pressed, mended and repaired state. At times I leave them in their unaltered condition, leaving the joy of restoration to you!
