My name is Lynn Capizzo. I've loved antiques for as long as I can remember, loving the challenge of the "hunt" and finding new things. As a long time collector and dealer, I started running out of room for all my treasures, and family starting laughing at all my "stuff". But to me it was all history, from a time when people prided themselves on quality workmanship, or made do with what they had on hand, and I enjoyed all of it. I finally realized that I should be doing what I love as a profession, so I could indulge my antique obsession full time. Hence, Lyndale Antiques was born. I quickly found my niche, dealing mostly in primitives and early lighting. There's nothing like the feel of a beautiful wood patina on a firkin or pantry box. The early lighting has always fascinated me, with the progression of candlesticks with wick trimmers, to whale oil lamps, fluid burning lamps and then kerosene oil lamps and lanterns. Oh, and the wonderful Victorian era with their beautiful banquet lamps and Victorian mirrors and comb cases. I love the kitchen collectibles, all the gadgets I can collect, display and actually use. Coffee grinders, choppers, match safes, salt boxes, wood bowls, tools and scales for every use. Then there's the things I'm glad I don't have to actually use...butter churns, sad irons and fluting irons. With my love for teddy bears, there was a natural progression to antique teddy bears, and all the fun antique toys and props to compliment them. The teddy bears have become my real passion. In the past I've only sold them at antique shows, now I'm offering them to the world with my new website, AntiqueTeddyBearCrossing.com. After many years as an antique dealer and the ongoing challenge of learning as much as I can, I now attend to Lyndale Antiques and Antique Teddy Bear Crossing full time, showing at antique shows and online sales...and loving every minute of it!
