I LOVE MAKING LAMPWORK BEADS & JEWELRY


Lampwork Bead: Iris Profusion

      I have my BA in Art and a Teaching Credential. During the day I work in Special Education which is challenging, engaging, and rewarding. I enjoy making jewelry at home as a way to relax and let my creative energy have expression. Lampwork bead making has become a wonderful outlet where I can bring my painterly experience to a new medium. I have studied glass fusing and lampwork beads with glass artist Marty Meade. I have also studied lampwork beads with Leah Fairbanks. I am a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB) and work in my own studio and with the Arroyo Road Bead Collective.

     I find a great deal of pleasure in the whole process of making jewelry. Selecting the gems, pearls and other beads I will use, designing pieces of jewelry, and putting them together are all part of that process. Making glass lampwork beads allows me even greater self-expression and adds a more personal touch to many pieces of jewelry. I find my time spent in the studio provides a wonderful respite from my busy day while engaging my creative needs. I make jewelry and glass beads for my pleasure and with each piece I wish the wearer joy in my creation.
