Welcome to MACLAN-Prototypes
Welcome! I have been involved in model railroading now for over 30 years. Out of that time, I have been doing prototype modeling in both HO scale and N scale.
The pictures below are some random shots of diesels that I have used to produce prototype models. They periodically change, and the pictures don’t necessarily depict my “road” preference.
The AC4400 pictured below has some interesting details unique to a few roads. Notice a difference in the trucks? These are what’s known as “steerable trucks”. You will also find them on CSX units.
BNSF 7951 at first glance look like a SD40-2. If you look at the side, it actually reads SD40-2R. This is actually a rebuilt SD45-2.
BNSF GP7??? This of course is a rebuilt unit common during the ATSF days. These units keep on going and going. Most were either classified as GP7u or GP9u depending on status.
