I have been very grateful to my ebay customers for helping me raise money for breast cancer research, awareness and treatment. I am about to celebrate my fifth anniversary of my breast cancer diagnosis and am happy to say all continues well. I have raised almost $50,000 through seven races from ebay sales (Thank you so much!) and donations! I have won a Susan Komen fundraising award for three out of the last four years. I really appreciate the generosity and kindness of my customers who have been so incredibly supportive!!


As far as my specific treatment, I received surgery, six months of two different types of chemotherapy agents - yes, I did lose my hair but no pesky leg shaving!!- radiation, a weekly infusion during a year-long experimental trial for my aggressive type of cancer (Her2) and hormone therapy (which is ongoing).

It's been an interesting journey. The trial was a real gift because, despite very low expectations, the scientists discovered that it reduced recurrence by 52%!!! This was unbelievable!! Talk about being in the right place at the right time. I am so grateful to the research which made this and all of the drugs I took possible and want everyone to have these or better results from their treatment.

Words can't fully express how happy I am to have had so many amazing and wonderful experiences in the last five years - whether it was dancing in a ballroom competition, laughing at a flower-arranging party, watching sports events at my sons' schools or sharing a great new place with my family. I have met wonderful new people, both in person and online!! And I am committed to fundraising which comes as no surprise.:)

But most importantly, I have been here to make unforgettable memories with my husband and kids. I have watched my kids go through milestones like learing to drive, entering and graduating from high school, going to college ("living the dream" as my older son calls it!!!) and the countless experiences in-between.

I want everyone to have the same gift of time and life!! You are all helping me do that! Thank you very much for your support!!
