GREETINGS FROM MAINE WELCOME TO MAINECOUNTRY AUCTIONS I have been in the antiques trade in Maine for 32 years and selling on Ebay since it started. I have recently closed my retail shop and will concentrate my efforts on my website and Ebay. My passion is for early painted primitives and folk art and i offer my most recent, fresh finds here on Ebay. I travel locally in central Maine to find my inventory: auctions, estate sales and my regular buying venues. I am especially fond of quality BRAIDED, HOOKED AND WOVEN RUGS (feel assured i will know a good one!) and have a general focus for baskets (including painted pack baskets), Shaker items, pantry boxes, firkins, small cupboards, quilts and rustic. Please view my website: ALCOTTANTIQUES.COM, see link below. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about items for sale. You can email me at pjalcott@aol.com or call me: 207-942-7706. I ship most small items Priority Mail, larger items UPS. I am a member of the Maine Antiques Dealer's Association and with 32 years experience in the antiques trade, you can bid with confidnece, i guarantee my items as described. It's been a pleasure dealing with my wonderful, enthusiastic Ebay customers. THANK YOU! I APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS. MY WEBSITE, WWW.ALCOTTANTIQUES.COM MAINE, THE GOOD LIFE Downtown Bangor with its beautiful turn-of-the-century architecture is bordered on the Kenduskaeg Stream and the grand Penobscot River. You will find many book stores, shops and eateries, a fabulous library, children's museum, and the University of Maine's Museum of Art. Bangor is off the beaten path, at the edge of a very large rural area that has remained stable for several generations. It has historically been an area populated by people who were ingenious and skillful, and often "made-do." A one hundred mile radius from Bangor has long included an interesting range of communities and traditions--fishers, farmers, artists, native Americans, francos, lumberjacks, traders, sailors, back country guides, and 'summer people'.This diversity makes our corner of Maine an interesting and rewarding area to visit. Within proximity is Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park, 20 minutes to the many picuresque coastal communities. A great place for your next vacation!
