I am a 71 year old widow. Born and raised in Western Australia and except for a couple of years traveling in Europe have always lived in what I consider to be the best place on earth. I have 3 children, 2 sons and one daughter, and 3 grandchildren 2 girls and 1 boy. I live in a lovely City, Bunbury in the South West of Western Australia, which has a Port and lovely beaches. We have a Mediterranean climate and have never seen snow here.
For much of my life I worked in offices and eventually I gained qualifications as a Real Estate Licensee and also as an Accountant. In recent years I have worked part time but have been fully retired since June 2008.
Most of my life I have knitted, though never as much as in my latter years when there has been more time to indulge myself. My eldest granddaughter got me knitting Barbie and then Kelly doll clothes for her some years ago, and it has snowballed from there with my now owning many different types of dolls and knitting for quite a number of them each month, with the results being put to auction on E bay.
Who would have thought that a simple request from my granddaughter to knit her some Barbie clothes and my buying a Barbie doll to get the fit right (she wouldn't give me any of hers), would result in my not only having quite a collection of dolls but also a massive collection of yarn.
I don't take commissions for my work as I prefer to just knit what ever inspires me at the time, and as in most cases I don't keep a record of my patterns I find it difficult to replicate my items. For me knitting is a joy not a business.
As I have arthritis I am not sure how many more years I will be able to keep knitting, but believe me I will keep going just as long as I can.
It gives me great pleasure when I see my outfits on the dolls of my buyers and knowing that they are being used and appreciated.
If there is anything I can add or that you would like to know further about me then please do not hesitate to ask.
Play happy
May.
Add your photos of your dolls wearing outfits I have made here. I would love to see them..
