Cloaks of Camelot

|
Welcome to my Fairy Tale known as Cloaks of Camelot! I have loved the romance of the Renaissance era for as long as I can remember, and I have been sewing for 35 years, but I never dreamed that two of my favorite passions would come together in such a fun experience! It all started around 2003 when my daughter took me to a Renaissance shop in Seattle. She tried on several of the cloaks they had, loved them, of course, and asked me if I could make one for her. I did, she loved it and now I am making cloaks for you! I do not know why, but there is a special feeling when you put on a cloak...empowerment and vulnerability; strength and beauty; the here and now in the then and there...it is MAGICAL! Of course, you are hooked forever when you take that "spin" that transports you to the next dimension of your dreams. So, here I am in my Castle Tower (currently located near Pittsburgh, PA) working at something I truly enjoy and making folks smile everytime they put on their cloak.
One of my other passions is old stuff :) I am fascinated by the craftsmanship of vintage linens, and nothing sets a prettier table than a beautiful old cloth with fabric napkins and Grandmas' China...silver flatware, salt cellars, crystal goblets, delicate dessert cups...and a bouquet of fresh flowers. Hopeless romantic? Yes, I guess.
I have been fortunate to find a few talents that I strive to hone. Thus, my stencilling that I have been doing for 30 years or more, my sewing and my love of old treasures has brought me to this point.
