The Mount Vernon Art and Craft Gallery

Hello to all and welcome to the Mount Vernon Art and Craft Gallery.  I have always felt that handmade items were more beautiful and meaningful than those things you can purchase in any old department store.  After all, how can it be "special" if there are 200,000 more just like it floating around?  My store is a work in progress devoted to handmade arts and crafts made right here in Arkansas.  This gallery is a place where  you can go to find many wonderful one of a kind things.  Some of it is heirloom quality, such as the quilts and embroidery pieces; some of it is funky fun stuff, like my jewelry pieces.  If you and I are lucky, there will be some wonderful vintage and antique things too.  Please come in and visit awhile, you may find something special that looks "just like one Grandma used to have". 

 

My name is Melissa.  I recently moved to Mt. Vernon, Arkansas with my husband of 14 years and our three children...eight horses, five dogs, thirty rabbits, flock of chickens & ducks & geese, four hamsters, two bee hives, and three goats!  My husband is a military pilot (and a very understanding man)  while I (an aspiring photographer) homeschool the children and feed all those animals.  We live on a forty-eight acre farm where I hope to start a horse boarding business as well as a rescue haven for abused horses.  We are truely a blessed family, luck has nothing to do with it.  Everything we are and have is by the hand of the Lord.  Thanks be to God!
