Hi there! My name is Darcy and I've been crafting ever since I can remember. When I was 5 I learned how to knit from my nana. Made my first pair of slippers...one that fit my foot and the other that fit my cat's! Stuck to making scarves after that :) A few years later, I started building cabins out of scrap wood behind my house with my cousin Nate. A little rough, but maybe that's where I was primitively inspired! I've always loved to create. Whether it be popsicle stick jewelry boxes painted in neons (sorry for that Father's Day gift dad), or hand painted wooden miniatures, I have enjoyed the start to finish process. Over the years I've come to love the look of anything old and primitive. I enjoy painting the most, but will dabble here and there with other textiles that peak my interest.
I want to thank everyone who has ever supported me over the years. Thanks dad & mom for always supplying me with my saws, sanders, drill presses, and lumber. Funny story...after returning to school after Christmas vacations my friends and I would ask each other what we got for Christmas...I was the only girl who received a band saw or belt sander and was actually excited about it! Thanks also to dad who would meticulously cut out some of the tiniest wooden shapes for my upcoming craft fair. You're the best! Thank you to mom who would help me set up for EVERY craft fair...lug, lug, lug! I want to tell my husband of 9 years how much I appreciate his support! Couldn't realize my dream of selling my creations without him. Love ya Mike!! Last but not least, thanks bunches to all of my customers & friends I have made over the past 20 years! You have all encouraged me to keep on craftin' :)
Here at Maplecrest Farm Simples you will find a unique blend of Farmhouse, Primitive, Early American, Colonial Items, and Maine Antique Finds. Once in a while I'll even throw in a unique surprise or two! I've named my business after my family's farm. My great grandfather built his homestead in a small town located in central Maine. My grandfather grew up there as a boy and later raised his family of 4, which included my father.
Although Maplecrest Farm Simples is a new venture for me, be reasurred that I am an honest person by checking my feedback under my other seller name, northeastcountry. I've sold on eBay for the past 6 years, and value every customer who purchases from me! I will continue to provide excellent service and deliver wonderful products to all of my future customers as well.
You never know what my little fingers will be creating or what exciting antiques I will be listing, so please check back often!
**If you're ever in Central Maine, make sure you visit From Nana to You in downtown Skowhegan! A wonderful indoor flea market offering anything and everything. I have a booth packed full of my primitive needfuls!!**
Many blessings, Darcy~
