Marcia Powers started Brookside Baskets, Inc. in 1997.  I had a love of baskets and collected them since my teens.  I decided to specialize in baskets made of ash wood in the following categories--TRADITIONAL NEW ENGLAND ASH WOOD BASKETS REPRODUCTIONS--TRADITIONAL SHAKER BASKETS REPRODUCTIONS--TAGHKANIC BASKETS REPRODUCTIONS.

Antique Baskets--I visit auctions in all of New England looking for original Baskets made of ash wood.  From time to time I offer these baskets in my E-Bay Store.

All of the material in our baskets is made from solid White Ash Harwood grown in New England. Currently Brookside Baskets are woven overseas by old-world craftsmen.

Currently, I have discovered another type of baskets that I have fallen in love with. Bolga baskets made in Africa will be offered in Brookside Baskets Store.

I plan to be always on the lookout for interesting baskets to offer.

BASKET CARE

Cleaning is recommended every 6 months.

Use a soft feather duster to loosen the dust.  We recommend taking outside to do this. Most dust should be removed by this method.  We suggest using a damp cloth and a wood soap like "Murphy's Oil Soap" to wipe out the basket.

Never use strong chemicals or solvents to clean baskets.

Our baskets our made to use.  Use our garden baskets, in the garden or to buy vegetables at the farm stard.  Laundy baskets to take out laundry to hang.  Pie Baskets to transport homemade pies.  Picnic baskets to carry a picnic lunch in the summer time.
