This is our little house on the fringes of Normandy. Nothing fancy, nothing big... certainly not big enough to hold all the stuff I drag home from the rural flea markets that are held in villages and towns in our area from April through November. Of course I could just stop buying stuff, but where's the fun in that?

Here's Rochambeau, who will do his best to make sure a few stray white hairs end up in every single package I ship.

Here are the terms that you'll find listed with all of my auctions.  I want to be as fair as possible and to reassure potential American customers that buying from overseas can be safe and easy.  There are, of course, some special circumstances that must be taken into account. 

THE NOT-SO-FINE PRINT

1. My goal is your complete satisfaction.  If you need further information or photos, please don hesitate to contact me.  Please keep the time difference in mind (It six hours later in France than on the east coast of the USA.) to allow me plenty of time to answer your queries.

2. Items will be mailed by priority air only.  At this time, the French post office does not offer insurance or delivery confirmation on overseas packages, so shipping will have to be at the buyer risk.  This said, in ten years of mailing Christmas and birthday gifts to friends and family, I have never had anything get lost.  Hear me knocking on wood? 

3. Shipping can be combined up to a total weight of 2 kg (that 4.41 pounds).  More than that is according to the French post office at least a arge package and prices rocket right off into the stratosphere. 

4. Where possible, items will be mailed in envelopes to keep shipping costs at an absolute minimum.  Textiles may arrive rumpled.

5. Allergy sufferers should note that I have a dog, and a few stray hairs may inadvertently find their way into packages.  Smoking is not allowed in our house, but please remember that these are vintage items from France.  Chances are that they have come from a house where there was someone smoking smelly Gitanes around the clock. 

6. Buyers outside France must pay by Paypal only.  Payments must be sent no later than seven days after the end of the auction. 

7. Any flaws or defects will be described as accurately as possible. Please keep in mind, however, that I may not know what is important to serious collectors of any given object.  If I have left any important information out of my description, please ask me to clarify.  Because of the hassles and costs of international shipping, I will not be able to accept returns.

I believe that feedback is the buyer's best way of letting the seller know that s/he is happy with the transaction.  I will leave positive feedback for buyers once they have let me know that they are satisfied with their purchase by leaving positive feedback for me.  In over two hundred transactions on ebay, I have left negative feedback exactly once.  I see it as an absolute last resort.  There's always a better way to work out a difference of opinion.
