About Our Store
Come visit us on America Main Street, US Highway 52. We are located in one of the many small towns along this winding highway that begins in Charleston, South Carolina on the Atlantic coast and ends at Portal, North Dakota on the Canadian border.
Norwood is about 45 miles due east of Charlotte between the Pee Dee and Rocky Rivers and just below the Uwharrie National Forest. Norwood identifies itself as the ateway to Lake Tillery,a man made lake formed from the Pee Dee River.
Since 1977 we have operated a gift and collectible shop in Norwood, NC, under two different names and in three separate locations. Our first store was very small and since my mother loved to read and the town didn have a bookstore she added books, used and new. When the building was sold we moved across the street to what had been a hardware store and more than doubled our size. This also allowed us to broaden our offerings from gifts and collectibles to antiques and old furniture. We changed our name from Eleanor Irvin Unlimited in 1995 when M. B. (Beth) bought the business. In 1997 we moved once more across the street to a building built in 1902 as a mercantile.
