Why Maverick Comics?!

I used to be Nuff Said! Comics but found out that everyone and their brother had used that tag.  So I recently decided to change my store to Maverick Comics & More.  Why, you ask?  Is it because I'm a big James Garner fan?  Is it because my sister drove a Ford Maverick in high school?  Is it because I am inspired by the Great Compromiser John McCain?  No, no and Nope.  We recently moved and we live on Maverick Court.  Simple.

Me!

This page is all about Me.  But you don't care about that.  You only care about Me as it relates to You!!  I started collecting comics in the late 1970s with books like the Uncanny X-Men, Avengers, Micronauts, What If, etc.  Through the years I branched back into the Silver and Bronze Age Marvel titles and have been focused on acquiring runs of these books in mid to high grade.  I love acquiring, collecting, and selling all types and genres of comics, though, and have put some of my collection up for sale on my store.  Have a look and see if something might fit into your collection also!!

I am incredibly happily married and have four great kids.  Needless to say this all keeps me busy not to mention my full time job!

 

For Buyers

I live in the arid southwest United States and with the dry climate, books out here just do not age like they do on the east coast.  I have been collecting comic books for over 30 years.  I understand that you are on eBay because you most likely can't find what you are looking for in your hometown shop and are tired of the local dealer who overgrades his books and undergrades yours!  I am confident that the books I sell are graded accurately and priced fairly.  PLEASE SEE MY FEEDBACK AND DSRs!!  I guarantee that I will match up with your most trusted sellers.

 

Shipping

I buy a lot of comics and I hate paying shipping!!!  This is a non-value-added expense in my opinion and so in my listings I try to minimize it as much as possible in the comics I sell.  I pack the books as safely and economically as I possibly can.  If you have any concerns about the quality of my shipping or grading or have special packaging requests, let me know and I will be happy to discuss with you.  Also, please look at my 100% feedback rating and check out the comments on accuracy of item description and packing.  See the link at the bottom of the page for my guide on packing and shipping comics.

 

Grading

OK, I'm not going to bore you with some retread of the Overstreet grade descriptions.  The bottom line is that the industry standard in grading is CGC whether you like this group or not.  One thing they have brought is an end to egregious overgrading.  I recently submitted some books to CGC and pre-graded them myself.  Below is the result of this so you can see where my grading falls in with CGC:
