Mc-love eBay bidder and
collector
Tip #1 Bid on a lot of items from the same bidder to save on the dreaded
shipping charges.
Tip #2 use paypal.com to pay for stuff quickly you get your stuff so much
quicker (shortest is two day turn around ;0)
tip #3 Never assume anything. If you have questions about an item ask the
seller.
Tip #4 We all make mistakes its only natural. Stupid is when you keep making the
same mistake. Learn from your mistakes
Tip #5 Communicate with seller as soon as you can after the auction.
Transactions can go sour with out the right communication.
tip #6 If your going to bid on an item be prepared to pay for it (too many dead
beats out there)
tip #7 Watch out for those dam bid snipers. If you really want something place
an additional bid (even if your ahead in the auction) within the last 20
seconds... if there are no snipers then you still get it for the price you
wanted if there are then hey you just made them have to pay more.
tip #8 A deal is only a deal if you still want it when it arrives.
tip #9 Bid early, even though some auctions are won and lost in the last 30
seconds a lot end with first bids.
tip #10 Use the 'My Ebay' page to keep track of your bidding and your wins. All
your info in one place.
Sniping Sucks
Using the auction mechanics to unfairly Bid without opportunity of counter bid
Really sucks.
Both for the seller that loses out on the final set of
bids and for the other bidders that might have won the auction if they had the
opportunity to bid.
Personally I would love to see the auction extended by a
couple of minutes if a bid is made within the last minute of the auction. That
way bidders can continue to bid in a fair way and the seller gets the higher
price.
The funniest thing I saw was when two snipers both
decided that they wanted the $4 item so they both bid an huge amount to
'guarantee' that they won the item. One of them lost the other one bought a $4
item for $151 ;0) What goes around comes around. ;0)
