  These Cd's contain scanned images of the pages of the old books. Basically, you scroll through the pages instead of flip. The scans are in black and white and in pdf format. Adobe Reader is used to view the Cd's. It is a wonderful program that is free and typically comes already installed on your computer. They work with mac too. Please take the time to explore all the features of the adobe program. There are many benefits to using these Cd's over printed material. Aside from the fact that most of the Cd's are searchable, you can print just the pages that pertain to your family to include it in your family tree or email a biography to a distant cousin. You can zoom in to read small text. These are easy to store and carry around. These are intended for the genealogical/historical information, please don't buy them for the pictures as they do not tend to come out that well. I recommend keeping up-to-date with the latest version of Adobe Reader. The easiest way to get updated is to go to the help tab in your adobe program and go down to "check for updates now". 

 The search feature is a great feature that can aide you in your research. The adobe text recognition program is not perfect but is very helpful. It works by recognizing the text so in some cases it may be less successful if the text is not clear enough for the program to read it. It is typical for the search to miss a few so it's good to cross-reference with an index when available.

 I know what it's like to anxiously wait for something to arrive in the mail, especially when it's something genealogical that may be the thing to break through that old brick wall. That's why I ship fast. I usually ship the next business day or same day if payment is received early enough. I ship all days of the week except the weekends and, of course, holidays. Cd's are shipped by USPS first-class mail. It usually takes 3-5 business days to arrive. I will also ship priority mail for large orders (6 or more) at no additional charge.
