"Dry Roasted Soybeans"
Dry roasted soybeans are by far the best way to feed protein to wildlife, especially deer and other ruminant animals that browse. They love the nutty tast, and cannot resist them once they are introduced to them on a regular basis. They will return to a feeder over and over like clockwork as if waiting patiently for it to time out, and they will not leave until the soybeans are all gone!
Most hunters are already set up to start feeding them if they are currently using any type of spincast (flinger style), gravity, or bulk feeding system. All of your game feeders that will feed corn or a similar product, will work great with soybeans without any modifications. Unlike most protein feeds, soybeans will not swell or clump up and plug your feeder.
The guaranteed nutritional analysis breakdown on Roasted soybeans is:
Crude Protein: Not less than 35.0%
Crude Fat: Not less than 15.0%
Crude Fiber: Not less than 6.0%
As you can see the deer will benefit from the protein, fiber, and fat. They will be bigger and healthier animals. When aided by a mineral package and a bio-enzyme, the absorption rate will be even higher, so just imagine the possibilities. Beside being a "SUPER" attractant and holding element, Soybeans give so much more back to the deer population we are all trying to protect and manage. Good luck with your Hunting ans Management programs.

Buck BeansTM
We currently supply specialized "Bulk" protein feed additives for year round livestock and game management programs. Our products have originated through series of formulations that we have developed through our own system. We're in the buisiness of building bigger better animals. We are now offering our products in smaller quantities.
"Buck Beans" is a Wildlife supplement that addresses a variety of management needs. It is a broad spectrum product that covers three basic needs to ensure a healthy and productive Game population. All species of Wildlife require protein as a basic building block to survive and grow. Normally they receive all the protein they require through normal forage and by taking advantage of the crops and food plots relative to their respective areas. However over-population, weather, urban pressure, and crop rotation and planting schedules can greatly affect the availability of usable protein in their diet. This is directly related to how well wildlife populations perform from year to year. Most outdoor enthusiast and game management agents try to supplement protein availability during the course of the year to either encourage the physical development and health of target game, or to attract and hold a population in a given area. Protein supplementation is a costly but effective way to manage wildlife growth, health, and overall success. The use of other supplements that offer little or no protein content is popular due to relatively lower cost involved, but can have adverse effects on the success of most wildlife management programs. Corn is by far the most widely used attractant for most wildlife species. However it offers little or no protein to encourage growth and health. Corn can be beneficial when combined with some sort of added protein. The combination of the two supplements can greatly improve growth, and animal physiology, but is not the complete answer to better game management.
As stated earlier, protein is a “basic” building block for animal growth. Animal health is also to be considered when managing herds or populations. Some areas of the country provide a wide variety of “balanced” available protein and forage for wildlife. Other areas are more challenging and limit the availability protein and other essential nutrients. Most plant life that is suitable as forage contains most of the necessary elements to promote limited growth and health of all wildlife species. Some forage types are higher in these “building blocks” than other types. Research into your specific area and the type of available forage can help you to better understand what your specific “Target” wildlife populations has to work with. Certain times of the year it is easy for most ruminant or browsing animals to find just about everything they need to survive. The key is ensuring they have not only what they need to survive, but what is essential for their improved health and growth. Providing trace minerals to supplement dietary needs during the times when forage is limited or unavailable, and in areas where forage potential is less than ideal, is the best way to ensure that wildlife species have the necessary ingredients to utilize the protein they take in. The same is true for each of us when we take that multi-vitamin in the morning to improve our own individual health.
Having all the ingredients is essential to the success of every recipe from an apple pie to the launch of the space shuttle. This is certainly true for game management and overall animal heath. A healthier animal is generally going to be bigger and more superior to one that is missing one or more of the necessary ingredients. Genetics plays a big role, but more often than not most game populations do not “blossom” simply because the lack certain ingredients required for them to improve, therefore the recipe doesn’t come out like the picture and you are often times less than satisfied with the final product. That is why a lot of outdoor enthusiast and game mangers do not realize the full potential of their wildlife populations. They sometimes miss one or more of the ingredients that is absolutely vital to ensure a successful game management recipe.
The equation is really very simple. Balanced food and water equals balance growth and health. If only we could utilize this simple equation in our own life, we’d too be a lot healthier. There is however one other factor when starting or maintaining a management program. What shape is the game population in prior to the implementation of the program? More often than not, the wildlife is lacking something, and therefore missing a piece of the recipe. Factors affecting overall growth, health, and physiological characteristics could have been at work for a very long time before you came along, and must be addressed as well. It is not enough to provide the basic building blocks, but you need to ensure these essential materials are being utilized to there full potential. The addition to what I call the “wild card” is what I believe to be the key to the success of every management program. Sure there are a lot of successful programs out there and they have a lot to be proud of. Any attempt to improve wildlife resources is a positive endeavor. However a lot of resources that are expended never hit their intended target. That is to improve the wildlife populations to their maximum potential. Sure providing populations with “extra protein” in harsh times, and adding minerals to a feeding program does help to provide some additional essential elements to the process, but it is a process none the less. In order to complete the process of transforming any given game population to it’s greatest potential state, you must first and foremost provide essential “nutrients and enzymes” along with the “building blocks.” This ensures that pound for pound, more of the building blocks can and will be utilized. Assuring that the wildlife gains everything it can from the supplements is important, but it is crucial to also ensure that the game animals in general get the full benefit from their normal dietary intake. That is the only way to be certain that the dietary intake is balanced and the population can benefit to the fullest potential from whatever they have available to eat. Theoretically speaking, the animals are going to forage for most of what they require to live. Adding extra protein can certainly improve and influence growth. Providing trace minerals will no doubt improve overall health. But the “wild card” will make certain that the culmination of all the elements that make up the ruminants dietary intake, will be utilized and absorbed during digestion to the maximum potential yield. Getting more out of what you put in is not only cost effective, but ensures improved results. Attaining the greatest growth potential, improved overall health, and maintaining superior physiology are all equally important to ensure that the natural genetic potential is also realized.
The “Buck Beans” product provides the platform for ensuring every management program has the ability to succeed. Whether the product is used as a serious management tool or as a simple attractant, the benefit and improvement will be amazing. This product alone will do more to enhance your overall population than anything else on the market simply because it more fully addresses all aspects of a successful management program, and the dietary needs of most ruminant animals. Try it for a season and be amazed at how well your harvest improves from the previous year when compared to records that reflect animal size and weight. Buck Beans can help to improve both physiology and population density. Isn’t that what a management program is supposed to accomplish? Buck Beans …. there’s “nuttin better” for improving wildlife management. Improve your odds of success three fold with the “Buck Beans” formula of…… protein, minerals, and enzymes for better more effective game management.

“Top Dressing your Spin cast feeder”
Your game feeder uses gravity to move your feed product, usually corn, down through the container and more than likely uses a funnel to channel it to the flinger assembly. We all have a good understanding of how it works and the simple physics behind it. The physics behind these principles can be used to mix feed additives within the container as it gradually moves down through the vessel to the flinger plate. This eliminates the need to pre-mix the feed and additives prior to filling the container.
Most containers if tended on a regular basis will always have a certain amount of feed in them at all the times. This is the main reason why “top dressing” is the best way to ensure the proper additive ratio to feed is achieved without totally emptying the container. The philosophy is simple, and easy to master.
The most effective time to top dress a feeder is when the vessel is about 25% full. Usually about the time most of us re-fill the container anyway. If a feeder will hold 300 pounds of feed, then approximately 10% of the total weight, or 30 pounds, should be your desired additive weight to ensure a 10:1 Feed to Additive ratio. When using corn as your primary feed product, additive amounts less than 10% total volume usually will not provide you with any real noticeable affects on your feeding regimen. If using your additive as a simple attractant to your feed product, then a 20:1 ratio is sufficient to ensure there is a suitable amount of additive being feed along with each feed cycle. Any additive level that is less than 10% of the total weight will not be consider as feed enhancement, but instead as a simple attractant.
Keep this in mind when purchasing your additives. Ask yourself, do I want to improve animal physiology or do I simply want to attract them to my feeder. Often times the “corn” itself is the attractant, but does little to no good in changing animal physiology (size & weight). Feed supplements will help to change game physiology by improving health and protein absorption during digestion. Don’t expect miracles unless the proper feed additive ratios are maintained at least during the peak growing season. It’s important for the animal to benefit from what you are providing them along with what they naturally eat during the season. A good well balance formula will ensure they get the biggest bang for the buck …… and improve all around.
Start with your feeder about 20-25% full. Put about 15-20 % of your feed additive into the container right on top of your present feed level. Then fill your container up with your feed product. Leave room for the remaining additive to be added last. Spread it evenly on top and close the lid. Your feeder is now properly “top dressed” with feed additive. Run you timer a few cycles into a feed sack until you note the first sign of the additive. This will ensure that the additive is being dispensed immediately.
As the feed and additive works down through the container, they mix together and provide a good feed to additive ratio during each feeding cycle. It won’t be exactly 10% each time but close. There should be a sufficient amount of additive dispensed with each feeding cycle to provide you with whatever your desired results are. Repeat the steps each time you refill your feeder to ensure a good feed/additive ratio is continually dispensed. Results should be quite evident during the growing season if photographs are taken on a regular basis. Compare your population to others in your area. The results will be amazing.

Mineral Placement
When deciding to place your minerals, be sure to put them in a prime feeding areas where deer can easily access them or near supplemental food plots or feeders. Minerals can also be placed near deer crossings or in shooting lanes to attract and hold deer. I like to place mine right under my feeders so the deer pick up the minerals as they naturally feed on the protein supplements. It works great. be prepared to move your feeder every now and then because they will dig a nice hole under it to get to the minerals that leach into the soil. Good luck and feel good about giving back to the great outdoors!!
