Back to previous page  Randy's Basement of Books From my teenage years and beyond I have been a reader and collector of books. I guess I am a bibliomaniac. Over the years I have purchased books new and used and read most of the them. I am a retired teacher and thought that when I retired I would reread that which I had collected, but I can't even keep up with the new stuff. So pack rat that I am I am forced to sell what I will not reread or read and supplement my retirement, and try and clear all those shelves in the basement [and boxes]. It is a finished basement with a frequently emptied dehumidifier. And I am a non smoker! I am fussy about the books I read and try to keep them like new. Used books I even try to repair, even ex library, to the best condition before I read them and often adding jacket protectors.   I found Ebay to be my best source for selling after discovering it was a great site for buying and completing collections; like books by Stephen W. Meader; thus my Ebay name meaderreader. I have mostly books from my teen reading like the above plus Howard Pease, Keith Robertson, Robb White and Jim Kjelgaard. And book series like Hardy Boys, Rick Brant and Ken Holt. This generated my continued interest in mystery and suspense novels; thus I have authors which I also find collectible: Bill Pronzini, Max Allan Collins, Les Roberts, John Lutz, Loren Estleman, Ed Gorman and a slew of others too numerous to mention .
