How Beadwork by Elaine came to be Silverwear by Elaine


I have been in love with beads forever.  I love to create beautiful jewelry and other things with them.  Then, I attended a couple of classes to learn how to work with silver.  Now I like to create jewelry using either media or both together.  I also love working with cabachons.  Beading is not just a hobby or fun pastime...  it is an illness.  You can never have enough beads!  People started to take notice of the jewelry I was wearing and wanted me to make this or that for them.  That evolved into doing jewelry for weddings, although some bridezillas made me questions whether this was the way I wanted to go!  Now I make what I think is pretty and hope it is well received. 

More about me I guess.  I am a former computer programmer who gave that up to do paramedic work full-time.  I did that until my body refused to crawl into another wreck and my back refused to allow me to carry heavy people down stairs or out of gullys.  It is definitely a job for younger people.,,  at least younger than I am.  Now I just do medical transcription from home (for money)  and make jewelry (for my soul).  My husband and I also love all animals.  We have three horses, two dogs, and one very ancient cat.  If we ever get rich (hah) we would love to rescue some horses.  Our two dogs are rescues.  We would love to rescue more, but we have limited space and limited funds.  One should never take on more animals than they can afford to care for properly (just my opinion - I have lots and lots of those).
