Harrison, Maine I have been an antiques and collectibles dealer since 1984 here in the western foothills 45 miles northwest of Portland and about 1/2 hour from North Conway, NH. My town, Harrison, straddles two lakes, Crystal and Long, and was once a very popular summer travel destination for folks who would take the train and then the steamer or the narrow gauge railroad to the terminus at Harrison. The town was also known for its many children's summer camps. Today, we still are a tourist and summer camp community, but not on as grand a scale. The old frame hotels are long gone and some of the summer camps have become private property. Books and Antiques in Maine My primary focus is on vintage children's books and ephemera, especially holiday items like valentines, Halloween items, and nostalgic Christmas items. I also offer a general line of antiques and collectibles, having acquired an eclectic mix of items from decades of buying at auctions, antique shops, estate sales and library book sales. For several years, I had booth space in antiques shops in Maine and New Hampshire, but most of them have all closed and I no longer sell my items in a shop. All of my inventory will eventually make its way onto eBay, primarily in my eBay store, DeVito's Books-TV Closeout Jewelry, and not in the auction format to keep costs down, so make sure you visit my online store. I add at least 50 items every week from inventory that has accumulated over 20 years, along with items that are being discovered every week in my favorite places to hunt. I don't even know what I have in my inventory room, so stay tuned for all sorts of old and interesting items. I also stock a few new items like QVC overstock jewelry, new women's clothing with tags, and new Christmas ornaments/decorations. My motto is, "If the price is right, I'll buy it, put it on eBay, and see what happens." I've been selling on eBay since 1998 and plan to keep listing until my inventory runs out, which will take years. While I will always be a native Mainer, at the moment, my inventory and I live during most of the week in Bradford, Mass, so my listings reflect that and most items will be shipped from there.
