I've been selling on eBay since March of 2001, when I first opened an account for my family at the local library - believe it or not we had envisioned using the library's free internet as a means to sell enough on eBay to buy our first computer. Soon enough, though, we had gone to Circuit City and picked up a Sony Vaio (just after Sony began making computers). Now, that first eBay account is used by my mom to sell her findings while I operate with MercurySteamer. I've been a member since February, 2005 but have only recently ventured into the selling arena.
In November, 2006, I bought my first Macintosh computer and convinced my family of its virtues enough for them to buy one over the past summer. They got an iMac and love it. If you're thinking about getting a new computer: Look Into Getting a Mac!! They're much more reliable I find.
To keep my eBay selling interesting, I visit local estate sales and yard/garage sales to look for neat stuff that other folks might pass over... and there's a lot of it out there. It's cool to pick up something and give it a second chance.
