Hello, my name is Bob Bentz. I have been driving Corvairs and working on them since high school. In fact, my friend, Dave Barnhardt and I started the Central Florida Corvair Club back in the late '70's in Orlando, Florida that is still going strong today.
I married Laura in February 1982 and our wedding party were escorted in Corvair Convertibles from the church to the reception courtesy of the members of the Club.
We moved to Fernandina Beach near Jacksonville, Florida in 1983 and lived there until March, 1997. There, we had our two boys, Bobby III and Tommy. Then, I retired from the Florida Air National Guard where I worked with fuels and moved back to Orlando. When I got another job there, we were transferrred to Plant City (about 15 miles east of Tampa) by my job in 1999.
We liked Plant City because it reminded us of the small town atmosphere we left in Fernandina Beach. However, after 5 years of employed work, I felt very unfulfilled by my job. After much prayer and discussion with Laura, I decided to try do something different.
After a few false starts, we discovered that we could make money on E-bay. Laura originally was selling garage sale stuff and stuff she had inherited from her step-father after his death. Then, we started putting on Corvair parts. Much to our surprise, they did real well.
We then had discovered our niche market. We are now working out of our home and are an old fashioned Mom and Pop business with the help of the Internet.
We thank all of you, our valued customers, for any sucess we may have. And also give the glory to God for all His help giving us wisdom to run our business by Biblical principles.
Also now we are the proud grandparents of Bobby's two children, Bobby the IV and Alexis.
(And we've discovered that little Bobby is a real car nut at the age of 2 - taking after his Grandpa!)
