Ideal Aerosmith Chamber, with standards gauges
|
This "ABOUT ME" page will simply list qualifications and experience, plus some pictures of my shop. It is 3400 square feet, and is dedicated entirely to repair and calibration of Barometers, Standards and Test Gauges, as well as other meteorological equipment,( such as barographs and psychrometers. My story starts out many years ago, with a "stint" in the Armed Forces,( Navy, to be exact). I was a Barometer calibrator for them over an eight year period, back when the Navy had barometers on ALL of their ships.
After the Navy, I ran a European Car repair Facility in Silverthorne Colorado.( Metric Motors, hence the name"Metricmerrill). Owner, Cheif, and head bottle washer,( for twenty five years). A large major retailer decided they HAD to have my shop there, so I sold out and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. Moving into semi-retirement, I decided to return to my"roots" and see if anyone wanted REALLY ACCURATE barometers like we used to make for the Navy. Evidently they do, so every day is spent at my shop, in front of my Ideal-Aerosmith hyperbaric chamber, just like my youthful days in the service.

HEISE CALIBRATION BENCH
|
Recently I have acquired a HEISE calibration bench, ( visible in pictures) FULL of Nist traceable standards. I have decided to try my hands in the business of High end( read quality), gauge calibration. I will get ISO certified, but not right away. I will see first if there is a market for actual accurate gauges. I suspect there is. All of the gauges in my calibration bench are Nist traceable" travelling Standards".. A real treat to work with, I might add. Calibrations are ALL performed using Nitrogen, so rest assured.
