Welcome to Lunacat Books.
Lunacat Books is a small bookshop located in the Historic Burlington Antiques and Art Emporium, in the center of historic Burlington City, New Jersey. There is a nice collection of used books in great condition as well as a few collectables. Whether your interests are varied or focused, you are sure to find something to your liking at a great price. Books and movies that are listed online are not on the shelves for the browsing public, so you can rest assured that the listed books and movies are not being excessively handled and you will receive your order in the same condition as described in the listing.
Listings.
There are now over 1500 of my books (both new and lightly used) listed online at Half.com. ( http://shops.half.ebay.com/midnightcat ) We also are on facebook. Please add us as a facebook friend! More books are listed weekly. You may browse by subject or by best seller. All books (except those in the 'acceptable' category) will be shipped in bubble wrap to protect covers and corners.
Book Descriptions.
I attempt to describe all books accurately and I try to mention any flaws or imperfections. Please read all descriptions carefully.
Most books are used or second hand. If I describe it as “collector quality,” then it has no visible flaws, or barely noticeable shelfwear (depending on age). If I describe it as “gift quality” then it is a book that would appear brand new, but may in its second, third or subsequent printings. Or it may have the price corner clipped (which would also be mentioned in description). Both of these types would fall into the LIKE NEW category.
Also in this category would be any book with only the teeniest flaw that is barely noticeable.
Books in the VERY GOOD category would have one or two (not more than one or two) small imperfections such as light crease to spine, remainder mark, one or two dogeared pages, barely noticeable shelfwear or previous owners name inside.
Books in the GOOD category may have more than one or two imperfections. May have slight yellowing to pages, inscription to previous owner, more than 5 dogeared pages, light crease to spine, soft corners, a light crease to cover or DJ, minor to moderate shelfwear. A book in this categeory would not have an excess of imperfections.
Books in the ACCEPTABLE category would have any number of the above mentioned imperfections. May also have yellowing, thumbprinting, highlighting, soiling, more than one crease to spine, crease to cover, small tear or missing DJ or it may be an ex-library book. Books are listed online in this category if they have some merit for being listed such as demand or rarity.
Condition is taken into account when I assign the price and any flaws that I notice will be disclosed in the description.
