Have you ever wondered what it would have been like
living in the late 1800's? I have and I have tried to find
out by exploring what's been written to document the daily
life of a woman of that era. I have found that it's a nice
place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. I really
enjoy the modern conveniences, like electricity, and my sewing machine.
I do have a true fascination for that period in
time. My Grandmother was born then. She told me many
stories, mainly about the hardships they endured.
I like the look of that time, the spare,
utilitarian approach to decorating is very appealing.
I enjoy making dolls that might emulate that time period.
Something like a very simple doll made from materials
you'd find around the house. A beloved toy now forgotten
in the attic, dusty, worn and just waiting to be held again.
Frayed edges, old lace and buttons, and lots of hand
stitching and embroidery... that's how I create. A hefty
portion of PRIM plus a dollop of WHIMSY... or what I like
to call PRIMSY is the style I love.
I hope you enjoy looking through my creations
