What we do
We have been providing consumers and installers with
quality speaker adapters for over 5 years. We have sold over 20,000 pair of
speaker adapters on eBay alone. Our philosophy is simple: Build a better
mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door.
How we build our speaker adapters better
It starts with the design.
We don’t manufacture universal speaker adapters. We
make our speaker adapters vehicle specific. If you try to make one design fit
too many applications, it won’t fit any one application the way that it should.
We design our speaker adapters to fit as well as your factory speakers do. We
make sure that the mounting holes on our adapters will line up perfectly with
the mounting holes in your vehicle.
We realize that 6½" and 5¼" aftermarket speakers are not
standardized in size. Therefore, our speaker adapters have several sets of
mounting holes to accommodate almost any aftermarket speaker that you may come
across.
Our speaker adapters are CNC machined. We can make design
changes in just a few mouse clicks, if necessary. This manufacturing technique
also allows us to create custom adapters to fill the specific needs of our
customers.
Why not MDF?
We machine our speaker adapters from PVC plastic,
because of its durability and tolerance to moisture. We could manufacture them
from MDF (the fiberboard product commonly used for speaker boxes) for about a
quarter of the cost. The problem with MDF is that it almost immediately rots in
moist environments. Your vehicle doors are moist environments. If you don't
believe it, take a look at the bottom of your vehicle doors. You will see drain
holes implemented by the vehicle manufacturer. Here is an actual home built
speaker adapter that one of our customers was kind enough to send us. It is
made from 3/4" MDF. It had been installed in his Honda Accord for about a year
before he noticed that the metal clips around his speaker grills were getting
stained. After removing the door panel, he had realized that what had
happened. His MDF speaker adapters were holding moisture like a sponge. The
bottom portion of them swelled up to over twice their original thickness, and
were crumbling away.
