Welcome to my Faller AMS Slotcarworld!
From Gouda, a small city in Holland, you can not only buy cheese, but also mint Faller slotcars from Mark K. Moerman.
What is Faller AMS?
Faller started making the AMS system in '63. It was made to be combined with HO model railroads like Mklin & Fleischmann. In the early eighties, the AMS era came to an end.
The scale isn't really 1: 87, but more like 1:66. The trucks are close to 1:87 though.
Faller cars run on 16 Volt AC or DC. They used a smart system for controlling two cars on one lane! One car runs on the 0 to +16 Volt part of the AC current, the other car runs on the -16 to 0 Volt.

To make things more lively, they created single lanes, crossings with trafficlights, RRX-ings, containerterminals etc. (thumbs to be added, see my homepage)
Faller made over forty different engines for their cars. It started with the block-engine soon followed by the vlakanker-engine. Later on, they added the so called zinc-engine. That is a zinc armature with extra reduction gears. The normal vlakanker has gear ratio 1:2,75, the zinc-armature is 1:25.

B-4733 Crossing:
This is a rare item. This one is made by Faller.Till the early sixties,
a lot of the Faller models could be bought as a kit, or built. When you
ordered one, it was send in a special box, together with original box and
spare parts!The crossing is suitable for Märklin and Fleischmann.
Container Terminal
The containerterminal was part of a big layout set. It picks up the containers
from the truck, and puts it on a Faller container wagon. The standard Faller
and train tracks are not on the picture.
Car Transport Wagon
The car transport wagon uses a special loading platform. Electricity goes
through the fenders. The wagon has 'track' built in, so you can drive your
car on it. With the two car control system, you can run two cars on one
wagon. The wagons can be coupled with a special accessery. That way you
can ride from one car to the next!

Schrijfbedrijf (or The Writing Company) is owned by Charlotte Moerman. Schrijfbedrijf main activities are copywriting, editing and correcting texts. Mainly focused on 'Business to Business'. Clients are Insurance Companies and leading B-to-B Advertising Agencies.

Guarantee
If you buy a car or a body that is listed as mint I guarentee that it is mint! If your not satisfied you can sent it back and you get a refund. However, there are things you should know before bidding and that are excepted from this guarentee. Faller cars were assambled in the sixties and seventies, mostly by hand. Glue stains are no exception. Lot's of cars were shippid unpacked, in boxes. That's why almost every mint Faller body has superficial scratches on the roof (very visible on cars like the Mercedes 300SE Coupe). Because of thin screwposts and too big screws, some cars often have cracked screwposts. If visible from the outside, I list those cracks. Famous for crackes in the screwposts are: Mercedes 190 SL, Opel Kapit, Cadillac and VW Beetle. A small crack that doesn't cause a problem and that isn't visible from the outside is excepted from this guarentee.
How about used cars?
Used cars are difficult to sell. What I consider a small scratch, you might consider otherwise. I try to list major damages such as cracked/broken posts, glue stains on body or window etc. I don't list small scratches that can be
polished away.
I often clean cars with a toothbrush and regular soap. On my digital camara (Kodak DC215) they appear very shiny. If I missed a major defect, a refund is possible.

Forgery? Imitations? Duplicates?
The (mint) cars I sell are mostly old store stock and old Faller stock. I don't sell imitations.
