We specialize in kits that you can't find at your local hobby shop or the mini-mall around the corner. All of them should appeal to the collector and builder that are looking for a unique and challenging subject matter that yields an exceptional model filled with high detail and full scale realism.

Surf City imports brand new model kits from a wide range of countries and manufacturers. Unless noted, we only sell brand new kits.

We deal with some of the finest Artisan Manufacturers in the world. We look for companies that have been around and know how customer service and quality manufacturing works. So you get the very best and the most responsive team to make your building and collecting a pleasant hobby, not a chore.

*COMBINING DIFFERENT AUCTIONS

You can combine all winning auctions into one shipment. Please contact us at: info@surfcitymodelcars.com for a quote on the shipping costs.

*SHIPPING

e Shipping is done by weight, mailing zone in the USA and Country for international shipments. We use the United States of America Post Office exclusively for all shipping.

All shipping quotes are by Priority Mail within the USA and by Insured Air Mail to all other locations.

Shipping is generally done on Saturdays. We can expedite your order for you. Just ask!

*COMMONLY USED TERMS IN ALL OF OUR AUCTIONS:

KIT, means you'll have to build the item.

MODEL, means it is already built.

CURBSIDE, means the kit or model does not have any engine (motor) detail.

MULTIMEDIA, means the kit or model is made from a wide variety of materials, they include but are not limited to, resin, plastic, photo-etched brass or steel, rubber, leather, turned metal parts, cast metal parts, and clear plastic or acetate.

MUSEUM KIT: means the kit is made to very high quality standards. SO good that when properly built and photographed, you won't be able to tell the model from the real thing!

SUPER KIT: means that the kit is of an exceptionally high parts count and detail. Generally, most super kits are done in 1/43 scale but more and more manufacturers are starting to do SUPER KITS in 1/24, 1/20 and 1/12. Costly? Yes, but worth the time and effort when done.

*MISSING PARTS:

from time to time you may find a part or two missing from your kit. While not frequent, the artisan manufacturers that make the kits occassionally miss putting a part in a kit box. (They are only human too!) Contact us and we'll happily get the missing part for you. We will need the part number from the instructions and patience. We'll order the part from our vendors if needed, or take one from another kit on the shelf, but you'll get the part, never fear!

*OPENING SEALED KITS:

Most Artisan Manufacturers are now factory sealing all of their kits, so it is not possible in many cases to send you or provide accurate parts counts or specific parts photographs on a particular kit. When it is possible we'll indicated it in the auction description.

*AUCTION PICTURES

Many of our pictures are supplied by the manufacturers. They generally show the model as it would appear when it is built. This will give you a sense of what you'll get when you complete the kit.

Additional pictures are generally not available, but ask anyway. If we have them we'll send them to you.

*LOCAL CUSTOMS AND TAX LAWS:

if you live in California, you will pay state sales tax.

If you live outside of the USA you will be responsible for all local customs fees or local taxes as your government determines. Surf City Hobbies / Surf City Model Car Company does not keep track of what your local laws are. That is your responsibility.

*ALTERING CUSTOMS DOCUMENTS:

Because we are a Licensed California Business, we can not alter customs documents to reflect a lower cost than what you have paid. To do so is against USA and California law and we obey the law. So if you don't want to pay your local taxes or customs fees as your government requires, DON'T BID on the item.

*BACK ORDERS

We have just moved into a brand new 1600 square foot warehouse to store these excellent kits and models. Our warehouse and show-room are located in Huntington Beach California at 5842 McFadden Avenue, Suite F. Visitors are always welcome, so send an e-mail and we'll provide our phone number and driving directions.

As you can imagine keeping track of over 1900 small boxes can be a daunting task, and we do our best to always have the item you are bidding on in stock and ready to go.

However, occassionally we'll have an inventory count that is off. If that happens, we'll notify you by e-mail and let you know what's happened.

You'll get options! If your able to wait, we'll make sure you get the item in a timely manner. If you can't and want something else we'll make that happen for you as well. So rest assured we'll keep you happy building and collecting. After all, that's our business!

*RETURNS / REPLACEMENTS

Surf City Model Car Company wants you to be happy with your model kit or model. If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase please contact us, either by e-mail at: info@surfcitymodelcars.com or by telephone at 714.968.2959. We'll talk about your concerns and how to return or replace your item.

If you select an exchange you'll get a credit for the full cost of your winning auction. If you select another kit or model that exceeds your store credit, we will invoice you for the difference. You'll forward the balance, and your new kit will ship promptly with the return of the original item purchased.

Please do not just return an item. It will be returned to you at your expense.

You will need an authorization number from us to insure we credit you properly for the return.

When you have the authorization number, and the return address you can then return the item for the original purchase price and the shipping costs of your winning auction.

You will pay the return postage.

You will be asked to use the original shipping box if possible.

Credit will be given when item is returned with an authorization number and received at Surf City Model Car Company in as new condition (if kit was sealed, return should be sealed, If kit was open all parts must be in the kit and in good condition).

Even if you did not like you item, and you paid promptly, positive feedback will be left for you. After all you paid for it in a timely manner, you just did not like it.

We will keep track of your returns, if your returns are excessive you will be blocked from future auctions. So please only bid on items that you really want, because as a business, we do need to sell stuff, not just mail it around the country or the world and put it back into inventory.
