Thank you for taking the time to visit my ebay store and about me page! I am Jackie, but am the "Punky" behind the pads! My mom started calling me Punky when I was a little girl because I loved Punky Brewster. She still calls me that today at the age of almost 23!
I have been sewing for as long as I can remember and have been selling on ebay for over 7 years. I am an experienced seller, so bid/buy with confidence! I have previously been a powerseller, so I've got the hang of this ebay thing pretty good, wouldn't you say?
I am a happy married SAHM/WAHM to 2 lovely children: my son Caleb who is 5 years old and a little baby girl Rosemary who was just born May 9, 2006. All money that I make from my store goes to support my family, so I appreciate every single one of my customers!! Your purchases mean a lot to me!

Cloth pads are much better for your body, the environment and your budget:
Body: Cloth pads are much more comfortable, they won't stick annoyingly to your body, they won't irritate your sensitive area with chemicals and your flow won't slide off of the itchy plastic. With cloth pads the fabric soaks up the liquid right away, making these much better for nighttime!
Environment: Disposable pads (not to mention their packaging) need to be disposed of and contain chemicals and materials that are harmful to the environment and take many many years to break down. Cloth pads do not add to landfills or sewers.
Budget: Disposable pads and tampons have to be purchased each month. This can definitely add up putting a major dent in your wallet each year. Just think, you'll also save on trash bags because you won't be throwing out anything!

After you have used a pad, rinse it out with cold water, then put them to soak in a container that has cold water. You can add detergent, dish soap, white vinegar, baking soda or Oxy clean (or some other color safe bleach) to the water, to help with stains.
Once your cycle is over, you can wash your pads in the washing machine. Cold water is best for blood stains, but some people prefer to use hot water to kill any germs, etc. When washing pads in the machine, you can also add detergent and other stain fighting agents that were mentioned previously. For distinfectant, some people like to use tea tree oil when washing their pads. Handwashing your pads is most gentle on them, but they might not come out as clean or stain free as those washed in the dryer. Either way, your pads will last for years.
Line drying is best, but Punky's Pads can be dried in a dryer. The PUL will not melt, so don't worry about that.
Obviously, stains will occur. A method I've always found that works the best in getting out stubborn stains is to "sun bleach" them. I simply just place the pad in direct sunlight for a few hours and the stain is gone. There are other ways of "sunning" clothing, diapers, pads, etc but I've found the simplest way works best for me.
There are many different ways of washing your cloth pads. After time, you'll soon find out which way works best for you.

Some women feel uneasy about using cloth pads when they are out about shopping, having dinner, traveling, etc. It's really no different than using disposable items. In your purse, bag or whichever you use, pack a few pads along with a plastic bag, ziploc bag or wetbag (which will soon be available at Punky's Pads!). When you need to change pads, simply rinse in cold water (if you feel comfortable using a public restroom's sink, if not just skip this step) and fold pad up like shown below then place in bag. When you get home, just place in your soaker container.
