Musician
Hi, my name is David and I'm new to Ebay, so please bear with me here.
As a musician since the age of 5, it's always been my dream to "make it" in the music business. Unfortunately, it's not that easy and I had to learn about computers to make ends meet.
As a drummer, I knew as early as 1981 that computers would soon replace me, so I made a conscious decision to embrace this new technology. Now that computers have replaced some of the equipment I own, I realize it's time to let go of the past and move on.
Therefore, I am selling some items that have been sitting in storage for over 15 years.
Why I am an Ebay newbie...
If you're wondering what took me so long to become a member of the Ebay community, it's simple: as a computer professional, I've been dragging my feet as long as humanly possible to fight the inevitable computerization and free distribution of my personal information.
I can remember a time when everyone was debating whether or not the internet should be commercialized or not. We all know now that this short lived debate has evolved into a new debate; that is, how do we go about securing the internet for commercial use. Well I think the internet has finally arrived, to my satisfaction. In short, I have been extremely reticent to use my credit card over the internet, but I now realize this is not a realistic way to live. I remember phone ordering an item by calling an 800 number (as opposed to using the internet,) only to find out that all the information I was giving this person was being typed into order form on their web page.
So here I am. And I look forward to a positive Ebay experience!
Thanks,
-=David=-
