This is my absolute pride and joy test pilot signed photo. It is an 8" x 10" copy of Mike Machat's "Golden Age of Test Flight" signed by (at present) 61 (62 if you count Bob Cardenas who signed twice) test pilots from the very early days to more currently. Hi, and welcome to my page.
I thought I would produce this page with info about me, for those who bid on items I post and to see who I am for those who sell to me! With all of the obvious forgeries on eBay and out there, I felt it was essential that if you buy from me, you know who I am. No secrets, none! I learned to fly at an early age (high school and we shan't discuss how long ago THAT was, but suffice it to say that I am a member of the Silver Wings, which requires that you soloed an aircraft at least 25 years ago) and attended an AFJROTC Military School in Melbourne, Florida in the late 1960's. This was right outside Cape Kennedy so you might say I grew up with the Space Program at the same time. This caused a DEEP interest in aviation and space history, and the Test Pilots, Aces and any type pilot fast became, and still are, my hero's.
Background
Please bid on my items with confidence. I personally have great disdain for those that would rip off others offering items for sale they know are fakes, and offer "autopens" (machine generated signatures) to the unsuspecting. I beseech everyone to do your homework when bidding and entering this great hobby, and ask questions for later usage. I am always available to ask about not only about MY items, but the hobby in general. I am a LIFE member of the Universal Autograph Collectors Club (the REAL one, not a bogus one alluded to by some unscrupulous dealers), as I adhere closely to and believe in, their principles. As per UACC rules - I am required to list my name. It is on my homepage, but in case you want to check my standing with the UACC it is Al Hallonquist and my member # is 6888. I strongly urge you to check with the UACC for the status on anyone who claims to be a member or registered dealer as there are many out there who do not belong yet claim membership.
Im proud to annouce (and humbled by same) that I was selected as "COLLECTOR OF THE YEAR-2003" by the UACC at it's recent meeting. In 2004 I won their "Literary Award" for an article in the Pen & Quill Magazine.
Also, I am a member of the UACC's Ethic's Board, and am now the Chairman of the UACC Ethics Board. I am no longer the chair of the Ethics Board, I am now a Director of the UACC with responsibilites for Registered Dealers.
