I LOVE MAKEUP!!! I rarely indulged myself in all the beautiful, high-end cosmetics I saw advertised in my favorite magazines because they were so often out of my price range. Then I discovered I could find high-end makeup at amazing prices on eBay. A revelation! I started buying...and I was hooked! And I couldn't STOP buying! The only solution was to start selling, too! And I made my decision the day I received a tube of mascara--rather than casually thrown into a business envelope--shipped in a satin bag in a box full of confetti. I realized I wanted to DO this! I've learned more about makeup in the last year or so than in all of my life before. (One day, my own makeup line? Maybe....) I adore being surrounded by all of these beautiful cosmetic items. And I quickly discovered that having my own store and making my customers happy makes ME happy! Once the idea entered my mind, I jumped right in and wanted everything all at once. I had a designer friend making my logo before I'd put a single item up for sale! I was designing business cards before I started getting in inventory! And it's the most wonderful feeling to know that the extra effort I put into making sure the products are perfect, and the nice packaging and careful shipping, make someone glad they've purchased from me. You're beautiful and you deserve the best beautiful things, from a seller who CARES and wants your purchase to bring you joy! AND IT'S ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER! eBay has allowed me to find and develop a love of vintage vanities, especially compacts. And now I have TOO MANY!!! I'll be selling some forward, so keep your eyes open for more beautiful things to come!
A note on "mshaversham": Yes, I KNOW that's not the way it's spelled! But the proper spelling was already taken as a user name, and most people spell it this way anyway. I selected the name years before I started selling, and I don't even recall what prompted that choice then. But from there came the inspiration for the store name, Great Expectations. And the lady DID devote herself to creating beauty. So it's a little odd, and a little ironic, but there you have it. You can always expect great things from my store...beautiful things that you're sure to enjoy.
