To my valued customers:
This is a brief statement regarding my
payment and shipping policies. Please make yourself
familiar with them, as they are part of the contract you make
with me by placing a bid on one of my products. If you
do not follow my guidelines, any complaints will be disregarded
if you are not satisfied with my service (This includes those of
you who still INSIST on paying with personal checks!!!!).
By bidding on
my listings, you are acknowledging that you have read and
agreed to these policies, that you will abide by my terms,
and that you are able to pay promptly if you are the
winner of an item.
PAYMENT
POLICY:

PLEASE NOTE:
If you require receipt of an
item by a particular date, please inquire regarding feasibility
prior to bidding.
I am just a man with an outside job, and
normally only ship items twice a week or so. Plus, if you pay by
snail mail, it slows the process IMMENSELY.

Successful bidder prepays by
PayPal. No
personal checks!!!! If payment is made by
personal check, I will hold the shipment until payment is received
in one of the forms which I accept, and return the personal
check when I ship your purchase. U.S.
bidders may pay online immediately following close of auction.
If you will be paying by snail mail, please email seller for
payment address. Please do not forget to include
shipping and handling fees as stated in the ad for regular US
shipments (first class or parcel post, depending on the weight of
the item, unless otherwise stated in the ad.). Please email
seller with mailing address for shipping quotes on priority,
express, UPS, Federal Express, or international shipping rates,
and include that amount with your payment.
Insurance is optional but seller
cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged mail if insurance
is not purchased. $1.70 will insure the item for up to
$50.00. Insurance is NOT available to international buyers.
If the shipping quote was omitted
from the ad, email me with your address and preferred method of
shipment for a quote, preferably BEFORE bidding!
Payment reminders will be issued by
email if I have not received your payment within 7 days of the
auction's close. Please note that these reminders are just
a friendly reminder from me, and will not affect either my
dealings with you, or your standing on eBay. Those of you
who pay through the mail might wish to email me as soon as the
auction closes, letting me know that your payment is being mailed
and on what date.
If I still do not receive payment or
communication from the buyer, I will then issue a non-paying
bidder warning through eBay. If there is still no response,
I will request a final value fee request, which gives you a
non-paying bidder alert, and puts you a risk to lose your buying
privileges through eBay.
If you receive a non-paying
bidder alert, it may be removed at any time within 90 days
following the end of auction once payment has been received.
I understand that sometimes
unavoidable situations arise. If for some reason your payment
will be delayed, notify me by email immediately BEING SURE TO
NOTE ITEM NUMBER AND DESCRIPTION and explain the problem to avoid
receiving a non-paying bidder alert. However, I still reserve
the right to relist any item after 17 days following the close of
auction.
If you know before bidding
that you are not in a position to make payment immediately
following the close of auction, you are advised not to bid with
me at that time.
FEEDBACK AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION POLICY:
I am posting this policy because I have
received many requests - even demands - lately from buyers who
seem to feel that feedback is mandatory, and that sellers are
"required" to leave feedback first. Please remember
that the eBay feedback system is a voluntary one. Every buyer
and seller on eBay has the right to establish their own policy
regarding feedback.
I never harass or threaten my buyers to
leave feedback for me. I also do not RESPOND well to
harassment or threats. I am a firm believers in the policy
that what makes the feedback system work is the VOLUNTARY
EXCHANGE of feedback.
I do not post positive feedback for my
buyers until AFTER the transaction has been successfully
completed. Successful completion means that the buyer has
received the product and is satisfied that it has been received
as advertised, and that any possible issues have been settled
between buyer and seller. My method of determining when this
process is complete is by seeing when buyers leave feedback for
me, stating that they have received the item and are satisfied
with the transaction.
Here is an example to illustrate the
reasoning behind my policy: I have had the unlucky
experience of receiving a negative feedback from a buyer who, after
I posted positive feedback for her, complained because the
shipping price in the ad was $1.00 higher than what she wanted to
pay. She emailed me and demanded a $1.00
refund, even though the shipping amount was in the ad and was
clearly stated both there and in the end of auction notice.
When I refused the refund, she left a negative feedback, making
no reference as to WHY she was angry, only that she was
dissatisfied with the sale. EBay doesn't offer sellers an appeal
process, so we sellers are stuck with whatever the feedback says, even if
it was undeserved, as was the case in this example.
I NEVER return positive feedbacks with
negatives or even neutrals. I am not a backstabber!
MY GOAL:
My goal is customer satisfaction. My best
business comes from repeat customers, who are loyal and always
keep an eye on my listings. There are several who may not make
any purchases from me for six months, but still watch my list
every week, if not more frequently - and I know this because
within 24 hours after I list the type of item that they are
looking for, I have received a bid or a letter from them. That,
to me, is (almost - smile) as satisfying as the income earned
from this venture.
My profit margin is low, and I work hard
for what I earn. I am not a business with paid employees, but
a simple man with an outside job. But when I see that
over time, even over years, the same people come back time and
time again, that makes it all worth while. When I see that I
have hundreds more feedbacks than what count in our rating, that
means that hundreds of times there have been repeat customers who
left me positive feedback (even though they know it will not
count toward my rating). THAT is the ultimate
satisfaction!
I hope that I can maintain that
relationship with all my prior customers, and I also hope that
my loyal customer base will continue to grow as I gain new
buyers. eBay has become a huge market - with millions of
registered users - and it really does make me feel good to know
that I have been selected by my repeat customers out of all
those people and all those tempting ads.
