Hi! I am Terrie K. I am originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and I now reside in Jackson, Tennessee. I began drawing and painting as a very little girl. I took private art lessons when I was about 12 and took classes in my Junior High School. After that, I have pretty much been self taught.
I moved to Jackson, Tennessee with my family in 1984 and graduated from Northside High School in 1986. I received an airbrush as a graduation present from my parents, but soon found that I preferred to paint with traditional brushes.
I attended Jackson State Community College, majoring in Communications and Advertising and earned an AS degree. The advertising field seemed to offer me a chance to work in all the subjects I love, art, graphics, and illustration, music, journalism and public speaking.
In 1991, I became the female lead singer for the band formerly known as "Real Too Real". (Most people now know them by their new name that they signed with Sony under; "Fuel") I began touring as a singer for the next several years. I traveled the Eastern U.S., the Caribbean Islands, Mexico and Canada. While I wasn't on stage singing, I had the wonderful experience of meeting artist and studying the works of artists from all these areas.
When I returned home, I opened my own company, Terrie K Entertainment Productions. I see my company as a vehicle for me to work in all the fields I love. Since opening this company, I released my own CD for which I designed all the artwork and graphics, I published an area wide entertainment magazine for which I designed all the graphics, ads and layouts, I have designed web pages and web graphics, sold decorative art work, fine art work and murals.
The experiences I had as a child and a young woman led me to try my hand at other artistic mediums. I bgan working with polymer clay and absolutely fell in love with it! I adore creating realistic figurative sculptures! I like my sculptures of "little people" to look like they could come to life at any minute! I continue to study human anatomy and strive to create lifelike sculptures of the human, animal and fantastical forms. But, because polymer clay is so very versitile, I continue to try new styles and arts with it!
Recently I have begun making Art Jewelry with my clay and I am having a ball! I sculpt my own beads in the clay and acent they with czech glass beads, gems and pearl-ex powders! Then I make them into unusual works of wearable art jewelry
Over the years, I have worked in almost every art form around; murals, trompe l'oeil, oils, acrylics, and watercolor painting, pastels, airbrushing, decorative painting, mosaics, woodworking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, screen printing, paper making, computer graphics,...the list goes on and on. I thrive on creating and my only intention is to continue.
