Me and My Crafts
I thought that it was time for me to update my ME page ;o) There have been so many changes this past year in my life.I have been so very fortunate to inherit the creative spirit of my parents and grandparents. I have ALWAYS had a passion for vintage items. Whether it's B&W photos, crocheted lace doilies, or vintage teacups and depression glass.... I love the feel of "old". I must have been interested in having a "shabby chic" home, long before the term became popular.
My Garden and My Critters
My other passion lies in nature, which I also credit my elders with. I could never live in a home where I couldn't garden. This year my herbs did so well that I was able to harvest them for potpourri use, in my sachets.I love being able to harvest my crops and make canned jams and vegetable relishes. Tomato marmalade seems to be my biggest request from family and friends. The yard is always filled with all creatures, great and small, year round.I suspect that they know where the best outdoor B&B is in town! Last but not least, our menagerie
This three ring circus includes 2 scottish terriers, Ryan Angus & Angus aka Gussy Dog; 3 cats, Princess Angelina aka THE PRINCESS, a gorgeous persian, with the most BEEEEEEAUTIFUL blue eyes; Bootsie, a lil' grey tabby and Macy, an Oriental Shorthair. We also have a strange lovebird named Pee Wee, who likes to hide under newspapers, or play fireman on his cage swing (what a riot!) Lucky, our Cockatiel, has the most amazing vocabulary..and he loves to talk about PIZZA. Our fancy canary Ellie, is the stabilizing factor for those two clowns.
So many changes these last few years ~ people enter and exit our lives sometimes before we can have the chance to tell them how much they truly matter to us. I wanted to take the time and space to thank everyone who was so very kind to me after losing my father. His spirit lives within me and will always be a reflection of my creativity.
 
Please wish my Mom, Helen, a very Happy 90th Birthday ~ July 4, 2007! Still a heart breaker!
