Welcome Friends!!
My name is Treavor Pence and along w/ my wife Barbie, we are arts & crafts enthusiasts. I have been painting, drawing for over 15 years and teaching for about 11 years. Barbie has been sewing and crafting dolls for 25 years. Along with our 2 beautiful daughters Meghan and Breanna (and 3 cats-Cocoa, Mikey and Duchess) we bask in the beautiful weather sunny El Paso Texas offers, we enjoy living in a city in the extreme Western part of Texas, where the average temperature is 65 in the winter and 94 in the summer!! El Paso is the 3rd safest city in America. El Paso is home to Don Haskins (winner of the 66 championship-NCAA-the only Texas team to win a championship), Sam Donaldson (famous newsreporter), The Gene Roddenberry Planetarium (creator of Star Trek), famous artist Tom Lea and muralist Jose Cisneros, famous Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Conner, Best Mexican Food in the world (Just ask the Bush's) and one of a few places where you can view 2 nations and 3 states from a hilltop!!!Ebay is a wonderful way to express one's talent!!

Art is like a window to the world. Art is a three-legged stool. Each of those legs represents something different in Art: creativity, concepts, & technique. If youcan tie all three together you're half way home to achieve your dream of being an artist. The other half requires diligence, practice & patience. The neat thing about art is that it evokes all emotions and communicates ideas different from what we are accustomed to.
I like to think art can be combined with other disciplines like science and math. In science and art, both share the same methods, values and tools. There is also discovery in painting, where you may accidentally stumble across just the right color blends. In Science they may discover a new moon around Jupiter. When I look through my telescope and see the butterscotch colored rings of Saturn I think of art. In Math, you have many designs or plans and -like with an architect's floorplan one can find art in any profession.
In my paintings, I begin with an underpainting (or block in the areas of interest), then I just fill in the detail. I love realism: themes and subjects like: animals, people, sea/landscapes, Indian life, architecture, Southwest, still life and fantasy art all present a challange I love to put on paper or canvas. My favorite media is: Oil, acrylic, charcoal, chalk and graphite pencil. I use only the best materials: stretched canvas over a nice wood frame stapled together, bristol-acid free paper and high quality paints and pencils.
My education of art began in high school where I was exposed to many culture, and ways of life in El Paso. My mentor Ann James Massey, who lives near the Louvre in Paris always encouraged me and taught me the basics in drawing and painting. Rosemary Burgos a local instructor at the Community College preached patience and endurance over the years. I attended countless workshops, contests and study groups in between earning my art education certification in 1999. I consider myself lucky to make a life long hobby into a solidified career. My awards include: Optimist Award, Who's Who, Outstanding Young Men of America, Leadership Development, Science Merit, Recognition by the
El Paso Mayor, Outstanding Names and faces and a member of many art clubs. My work hangs around the world in places like: England, Austria, Canada, and both coasts of the U.S. I have sold over 300 drawings and paintings on the internet and my wife Barbie has sold over 30 hand made dolls. Together we make a good team and enjoy ebaying immensely. Thanks for your interest in our career and our art. Happy ebaying!!!
