I come from a family where I am the oldest of 16 kids. About 4 years ago money was tight and I was trying to figure out what I could do for Christmas presents. Well, betweem my grandmother passing away and my ex-husband's grandmother passing away I aquired both sewing kits. For awhile I didn't know what to do with them.

 This one Christmas I decided to make family blankets.  What I would do is make the quilt top, embroider the family name at the top and then embroider each person's name and after I finished with that, I quilted it and made them wall hangings. This has meant alot to my family, especially to my sister since her husband passed away a couple years ago.

Ever since then I have been hooked on sewing and quilting. I do it almost everynight. I feel so lost when I haven't sewn. It's become more like an addiction which is good I guess because it helped me get rid of a bad addiction - smoking. I have now been a non-smoker for 4 years.\

Since the beginning I have done many craft fairs and do alot of quilting for others. I hope to one day my it my own business but it takes baby steps.
