By watching the actual grooming on a video you will SEE how it is done. Sure it won't be perfect in the beginning. But, it's a start. We all have to start somewhere. So start NOW.

 Your pet will thank you for it.

 Some dogs just love going to the groomers. Most all the dogs that we groom at our shop are happy easygoing dogs. They don't really care who grooms them. But, there are those few that don't like being away from mommy. They are fearful of strange places. They don't like being touched. But, on the other hand at home there is no rush to finish. You can go at the dogs pace. They trust you. By grooming your own dog you will be money ahead and your dog can always look GREAT. The cost of grooming your pet is not cheap.If you have more than one then you have to double it. A lot, of the dogs we groom come in bad shape because the owners can't afford to have them done on a regular schedule. They don't take into account the cost of up keep when they buy that cuddle fluff ball.

 Start out on a small scale. Don't buy all the items you'll need or WANT. Use the money you are saving by doing your own dog to buy as you go. ONE THING --Don't buy bad or cheap grooming equipment -- your results will reflect it. There's nothing worse than a cheap pair of clippers and the blade just jams in the hair. FIRST you have just scared you dog to death because you PULLED out it's hair instead cutting it. OUCH! It may take some time before he'll let you get near him with the clippers again. Don't buy adjustable blade clippers. Buy clippers that take different blades. You want to be able to replace them and be able to have them sharpened. Plastic or metal combs are no replacement for a REAL different size blades. They do have a place, but not for general grooming.They are like the , something's, you can buy later .I am always happy to consult you when you can't decide on what equipment you need. I will try to advise on the necessary items to get you started. I'm sure you have some things already.By all means --- make this a FUN adventure!!  Even if you only groom your dog once in awhile and they go in for a pro job once in awhile.
