My Husband & Me
|
My name is Amanda Lujan. I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. Growing up I enjoyed climbing trees, and riding my bike. I was quite the tomboy. I didn't have many friends and wasn't that popular. I have a little sister named Melissa, whom I love very much. Even though we never got a long. Melissa is in college in Louisville, Kentucky where my parents live. My parent's names are Loretta & Duane. They were both born & raised in Kansas.
My mom's job transferred us to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1996. I wasn't too happy about this move because I had just gotten into a school I enjoyed. I went to three different schools through out Jr. High. I struggled to keep up. I didn't know anyone, and I wasn't used to hanging out with girls that much. It's a lot harder to earn someone's trust now days. The hardest thing about finding new friends, was relating to their culture. Their background was a lot different from my own; I needed to find a middle ground for anyone to accept me.
While in New Mexico I made a lot of new friends. Some of whom I have stayed friends with through out the years. Marissa Miller was the first to become my friend. She was there for me through the good times, and the bad. We were a year apart, but we seemed to click right away. She is still in New Mexico, going to school to become a teacher. Julie is my best friend. She knows absolutely everything about me. I am glad to have such great friends to share my life with....
In 1999, I met my husband Michael. I found him working in the local Target Parking lot. He was fetching all of the carts that night. My friend Julie and I thought he was adorable, so I went and talked to him, the only thing I could think of was... "What time is it?" I don't even remember what he said, but the rest is history.... Three months later we conceived our first-born child, Steven Michael, born on May 5, 2000. My parents weren't exactly thrilled that I got pregnant at 15, but some how we managed to survive... Shortly after finding out about our unexpected arrival, I dropped out of High School. My mother-in-law, Sally, didn't want me to ruin my life, so she found an alternative high school that had a daycare program for Steven, Independence High School. This is where I received my HS Diploma, a year early might I add. At this time, Michael had joined the Air Force, so he could provide a good life and healthy living for our family.
In September of 2001, Michael and I decided to get married. Nine months later came Jonathon Raymond. Born May 28, 2002.... I moved in with him at Sheppard AFB, in Texas. We stayed there through his Tech School. After he graduated, December 2001, we moved to Eglin AFB, in Florida where we are currently stationed. Michael works on the F-15 aircraft as a Crewcheif. About eight months after I gave birth to Jonathon, I conceived Krysta, our Angel.{Read her Blog for more info}
After Krysta Died, I was extremely depressed. I blamed myself for her dieing. I kept thinking that I had done something wrong to hurt her, or that I could have prevented it. When I was six months pregnant with Krysta, I had a dream... In my dream I was in a hospital bed, in labor. I remember after pushing her out hearing silence. No scream, No cry, No sound at all. Then it hit me, she couldn't breath. Knowing I was at Eglin's Hospital I knew they couldn't take care of her, and that she would die. I woke up crying, and very disturbed. When I told people about this, including my husband, they just blew it off like it was nothing, and told me I should do the same... Four Days before my due date. They decide to check on her because I had been loosing weight, plus my measurements were way off. After the ultrasound, I got a phone call telling me to go to the hospital right away. Upon arrival they told us that there might be something wrong with her. They chartered a flight for us to fly to Tampa, Florida immediately. There I was admitted into Tampa General Hospital. Three days later Krysta Michaela was born on October 13, 2003. When Krysta was born she couldn't breath, just like in my dream. Had she been born at Eglin AFB, she would have died shortly after birth. Since we were in Tampa, we blessed with two months and two days.
Michael and I didn't know if we were going to try to have more children at this point. We were worried of what could happen to our next child. Before we knew it we had conceived Christopher Duane. Christopher was born July 30, 2005. Thankfully he was healthy.
About two years ago, my parents decided to start a business online. This sounded quite difficult, and expensive. I didn't quite know what to think of it at first, but now that we have started this never-ending task, I find it quite fun & interesting. I enjoy working from home, and spending time with my family.
