I started selling on ebay a few years ago as a way to work around my illnesses - I have Lupus. I am also a single parent of a 14 year old, who also lives with chronic illness. My son has had 3 surgeries on his hip and femur . He broke the growth plate in his hip and had to have a screw put in to hold it in place. The screw was scrapping the hip whenever he moved and killed half of the blood vessels at the joint. They took the screw out 2 months ago but his hip and femur continued to collapse. His last surgery was last week at Duke University Medical where they removed part of his calf bone with blood vessels attached and placed it at the top of the femur with a pin across the leg, directly under the transplanted bone, in hopes that the blood vessels will fuse, so that he will not lose his hip and leg. They had to scrape out the top of the femur before placing the new bone in position, because it was already crumbling. Ebay is a necessary part of our lives and is the only source of income. I get alot of help from my sister, mom and niece with running the business. They help me get the items ready and help me with the shipping. I am very grateful for the wonderful people that we have worked with on ebay and look forward to successful future dealings.
