Me with NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne
|
Thanks for stopping by my "About Me" page. First, here's a little info on what I tend to look for most on eBay. I mainly use eBay to purchase new items to add to my ever-growing collection of NASCAR collectibles (especially trading cards and diecast), rock-n-roll memorabilia, and pins. Of particular interest to me are items or memorabilia featuring my favorite NASCAR driver, Kasey Kahne, who drives the #9 Budweiser Dodge Charger in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series. I'm also always on the lookout for Beth Hart, Heart and Girlschool collectibles/memorabilia (my favorite artists/bands), though occasionally I buy items featuring other artists also, if there's something in particular that's of special interest to me. I'm also an AVID pin collector, with my primary interest being NASCAR or other racing related pins and Hard Rock Cafe pins (I'm a Hard Rock Cafe Pin Collectors Club member). I do collect and have purchased many other types of pins also, and my collection has become quite large. In addition to pins, I also collect autographs, though I rarely purchase autographed items on eBay since their authenticity is usually difficult (if not impossible) to substantiate. An important fact of note is that I NEVER seek out pins, autographs or any other items I collect on the basis of their ultimate market/resale value, or even their "collectibility" (i.e. I'm not interested in things just because they're considered "hot" at the moment). I buy and/or collect only those items that have particular significance or value to me, personally.
As far as being an eBay seller, I've only sold a few items so far, but I plan to start doing more selling in the near future. I have a 100% positive feedback rating as both a buyer and seller, which I hope will inspire the trust and confidence of potential buyers/bidders, even if I'm a seller "newbie", at least for the time being.
As for me personally, I'm a 45 year old Litigation Paralegal, currently residing in the metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia area with my significant other and our two beloved, thoroughly spoiled "furry children" (two Shiba Inu dogs, Nikko who is 12, and Kaiya who is 7). In my spare time, I enjoy watching or attending NASCAR races and related events (of course!), reading, listening to music (mainly rock/classic rock, but my tastes are pretty varied), surfing the internet, writing (both freelance articles and poetry/song lyrics), going to concerts and clubs, and riding roller coasters. Favorite television shows (in no particular order) include Fringe, Eleventh Hour, House, Private Practice (I'm not a Grey's Anatomy fan, however), all of the Law & Order shows, particularly Law & Order: SVU, CSI and CSI: Miami (NOT CSI: NY, though), and Numbers. If I'm not watching one of those, you'll probably find me tuned in to something on Animal Planet or one of the other Discovery networks, A&E, Bravo, The History Channel, MSNBC, or one of the premium movie channels.
As far as other hobbies go, of all the things in my life, music is and always has been my true, life-long passion. As mentioned above, my ALL-TIME FAVORITE bands/artists are Beth Hart (check out her newest CD, 37 Days), Heart and Girlschool, though my overall musical tastes tend to include a bit of everything, with the exception of opera (definitely NOT my cup of tea!). I listen to everything from Def Leppard (love their newest one, Songs From The Sparkle Lounge) to Sugarland and Gretchen Wilson, and Pat Benatar to Nickelback. Under the more "eclectic" musical side of things, I just love the music from many of the Cirque du Soleil shows (Mystere and Alegria are my two faves of those that I've seen so far, but I'm a huge fan of "Cirque" in general, without question).
Some of the PHENOMENALLY TALENTED local Atlanta artists/bands I enjoy include Caroline Aiken, Donna Hopkins, Diane Durrett, and Liz Melendez. Though they're all "independents" (not on any major label), they all have their own official web sites. Unfortunately, due to space limitations, I couldn't list their sites in the "Favorite Web Sites" section on this page, which is a shame. BUT...if music "makes your world go 'round", like it does for me, and you're interested in discovering some TRULY INCREDIBLE "unknown" independent/local artists, look them up on Google or Yahoo, or if you happen to live in the Atlanta area, definitely go and check them out at Eddie's Attic or Darwin's. You won't be sorry you did, I guarantee it!
Well, I think that about covers everything. All in all, I've purchased many cool and hard to find things on eBay over the years, and I've even made some new friends along the way. I love being an eBay member, and I plan to remain an active part of the eBay community for many years to come.
