The Play Yard - One of my Favorite Pictures.

   My artistic talent showed up early in life and for that reason I believe I was born with it. When I was in kindergarten my teacher told my parents I was going to be an artist because I was the best little tree and flower drawer in the class. In fact, that is about all I can remember about kindergarten; my great love for drawing and painting. When I was in grade school I picked up my first commissions and when I was in Jr. High I was doing portraits for other students. In high school I did commissions for many people including some of my teachers and I began doing one of my favorite things, oil painting. In my senior year I was on the year book staff and published in the book a portrait of one of our teachers who we dedicated the yearbook to.  I used a medium  I had never tried before; pen and ink and found that I loved it, and it is now my most effective technique of all, in fact I now have a name for being an incredibally good ink drawer. After I left school I got married and raised a couple of children but when they grew up and left home I went back to my artwork and finally went to college where I maintained a 3.934 grade average. Then I did what I had always dreamed about, I exhibited and sold my work at shows and in gallerys. Now I am racked with health problems and haven't been able to drag my pictures around anymore so I thought I would try eBay. I have listed a number of pictures and also jewelry (I love to design and make)  and one day I hope to open a store since I also do cards and small animal  and  lighthouse sculptures, etc.  There is one other thing about me; I went through about 20 years of severe depression of which for ten of those years I was almost completely immobilized and It seemed I would never get well until I began having grandchildren. Then  I began to slowly come back to (life) and I now am able to be a productive person again, Thank God and my beautiful grandaughters!  Nancy McLay-Wurm. (nancwurmartist).
