My Life is fulfilled with the enjoyment I obtain from creating twig wreaths and other twig articles such as doll furniture and garden chairs. I also make a variety of other items including aged, primitive looking dolls, paintings on barn board, etc. I have always enjoyed the country life, and all the beauty of Nature. Being an avid animal lover, I find myself very happy working in the woods while harvesting the birch and other materials I use for my wreaths. I seldom will have less than four to five creatures looking back at me. I started making wreaths for a very nice lady many years ago. She taught me many things about making very rustic and extremely well liked twig wreaths. I have been on my own making wreaths for a few years now, making it at least seven years of wreath making. Not only do I enjoy making wreath-style crafts, but also everything that looks old aged and primitive!

 

Under most circumstances, my wreaths are shipped out primarily Monday through Wednesday, depending if you live a long distance from me. I prefer not to ship to far places after Tuesday, as my wreaths could end up sitting boxed-up over the weekend before delivery, which is not something I care for when I want the wreaths to arrive as fresh as the day they were made. My items including wreaths are boxed in appropriate sized boxes. Some people may ship for less, but due to the fullness of my wreaths we usually go up in box size to ensure the wreath arrives in good form. Priority and Parcel are the two shipping methods I use. You may purchase insurance which is 1.30 extra, or I do include just the confirmation number. Priority mail is definitely recommended, as then the wreaths will arrive within three days after shipment, where-as Parcel shipments can take a week or more to get to the destination.

My wreaths are all made of fresh Birch and sometimes Red-Twig Dogwood. The branches used are all harvested by me and my husband. There have even been times when we have had to take a pickup across the river to trim some birch, and we never will cut down a healthy tree just for branches. I sometimes add mini berries of variety styles and colors to the branches of the wreath. I enjoy being in the outdoors as I am an avid animal and nature lover (hence my username). I make all of my primitives and wreaths on my own property. My husband built me a couple cabins to work in. My favorite place to work is one that I call The Bittersweet Cottage. It’s nice just to get away from the phone to relax and make my own crafts. I have many trees surrounding the cottage; it is nestled among the pines and a few Maples. Of course there is always a family of squirrels watching me.

 

I love all the work I have done involving my wreaths and other creations. I would have to say that aside from my family, I have a great desire to help the homeless dogs and other creatures in need. I have saved many dogs which no one else wanted, due to their age or other reasons. I loved all the dogs I have brought into my home. I’m sure this love towards animals I have will never change. I would have many many more if I had the place for them . At this point I have three dogs which normally sleep at the side of my bed, on their own beds. Oh except for Sammi, she has been sleeping on my bed every night since I adopted her. Along with these three very loving dogs, I also have two Cockatiels, a canary, and fifteen beautiful goldfish. Then there is Fangs! A black cat, he has been around here since birth, 8 years ago. I would have to say I would do it all again if I could. All-in-all I’m kept very busy between caring for my animals and family, and making these primitive-looking crafts. But none-the-less, I highly enjoy what I do!
